Spoiler:

Spoiler:

Unquestionably a huge draw everywhere he went: Mid-Atlantic, Portland, WWF, WCW and a pivotal part of the Rock N Wrestling era. He also has a rare distinction of being on a Wrestlemania and a Starrcade in the same year. He also has one of the greatest WM moments of all-time in spraying a fire extinguisher.

Inducting "The Hot Rod" will be Undrafted and I will update Undrafted if and/or when he's picked.

Spoiler:
Roster:
Steve Austin
Lou Thesz

Spoiler:

John Cena has put the WWE on his back and carried them through a prosperous time, even if not one that is as much to my tastes as prior eras. He's an all-timer on the stick, and has done his part in quite a few great matches as well. He's another upstanding representative for my Hall, one who has achieved at least a middling level of celebrity outside of wrestling circles as well.

He, too, will be inducted by an undrafted to be named later.

I have probably the best wrestler of all time, so I might as well add the greatest manager of all time. I’ll take:

Bobby “The Brain” Heenan

Damn ABBA, I was waiting to grab the Horsemen. Heenan and Taker were high up as well.

Similar to LKJ earlier, there are probably other guys I could take, but I’d be disappointed if I didn’t get to induct my next pick...

Round 3, Pick 6:

Spoiler:

Bret “The Hitman” Hart

Inducted by: UNDRAFTED

Probably the most important wrestler of the mid-90s (damning with faint praise, I know) and credited by no less than Steve Austin as the greatest all-around wrestler and greatest in-ring storyteller of all time. Second ever WWF Triple Crown champion, and the first to win all three titles twice. And author of some of the greatest and most memorable matches ever, including his WM13 epic against Austin considered by this forum to be the GOAT.

HoF class:

Spoiler:
Vincent K. McMahon
Dusty Rhodes
Bret Hart

Spoiler:
Pick 3.7:

Paul Heyman

One of the greatest talkers in wrestling history, he led the Dangerous Alliance in regions across the country and advocated for 5 WWE Champions. His legacy, however, is Extreme Championship Wrestling and the cult-like following it inspired in the 1990's. An innovative booking approach and a more adult-oriented program, both inside and out of the ring, revolutionized the industry and disrupted the multi-billion dollar duopoly in the wrestling world.

I almost took Paul Heyman with my pick, considered Piper too.

You have another pick yankeys if you weren't aware.

Spoiler:
Pick 4.1:

Mitsuhara Misawa

Misawa is one of the best wrestling tacticians and in-ring storytellers of all-time and maybe the greatest wrestler ever. He was an 8-time World Champion and had 25 matches rated 5-stars by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. After leaving AJPW, Misawa would found Pro Wrestling Noah, where he proved just as adept behind-the-scenes as he was in the ring.

By the way anyone can feel free to create a spreadsheet, if not I'll probably sort one later.

Round 4, Pick 2:

Spoiler:

The Road Warriors

Inducted by: UNDRAFTED

Considered by many to be the greatest tag team of all time. The spikes, the face paint, the awesome promos, and their straight-ahead power wrestling (and no-selling) got them over with fans wherever they went. And they went everywhere, famously being the only tag team to win the “Big 3” tag belts (WWF, AWA, NWA) as well as All Japan.

They were so feared in the ring for their stiffness, there are stories of wrestlers showing up to the arena, seeing they were matched with the Road Warriors, grabbing their bags and leaving rather than having to wrestle Hawk and Animal.

I hadn't heard this, but that seems to reflect rather badly on the Road Warriors.

(Which is not a critique of the pick, FWIW.)

Quick question before my pick, if we take a tag team or faction, do we have to have all iterations of them? Or can we just take one incarnation? For instance, The Four Horsemen: Does DW get only Blanchard, Flair, Anderson, and Windham, or does he have to include all of the other members? Let me state for the record that if we get to select the one version, all other versions should be off the table.

You can take whatever iteration you want. Wetzel took Flair, Arn, Tully, Ole and JJ (same as WWE HoF I think). And yes all versions of the horsemen are now off the table.

Ok then with my next pick I’ll take:

Spoiler:
nWo

Spoiler:
I’m going with the Hollywood Hogan and Outsiders version. I considered expanding it to include The Giant, but that would also mean including DiBiase, but I really don’t think he added much at all, so I’ll stick with the original 3

Just a heads up, I am feeling better, but now I’m not sure how I want to handle the write ups, so for now I am forgoing them. Once I decide on how to do them I will let you know and get caught up

Spoiler:

I'm happy that Shawn Michaels did the job to Bret Hart in this draft, though on the merits I would have a difficult time agreeing that Bret was actually the better overall talent, or that he had the superior career. Given that most of Ric Flair's work came elsewhere, Michaels has a strong claim for having the best body of matches in WWF/WWE history, cranking out four-star matches like it was a compulsory bodily function. Hard not to like him here in round four.

Will be inducted by undrafted.

HBK was top of my board after the nWo. I'd have taken him ahead of Bret Hart but it's pretty close.

Eventhough DW wanted just the original 5 I wanted clarification on it to make sure he wasn’t stuck with the lesser members. And I waited to ask that question until the last possible second because I knew it would give away what I wanted. I just hope the pick I wanted is still there on the way back

Shawn was specifically who I had in mind when I said there were others I could’ve objectively taken over Bret. Really good value.

At work, so brief writeup:

Spoiler:
I mean, sure, we all like to make jokes about

Spoiler:

all the belts

but there's no denying his impact in the business for the last two decades, both as a performer and an executive. He's had the longest Wrestlemania match umpteen times, he's running the only decent WWE production right now in NXT (your mileage may vary), and he can still go in the ring.

I'll let his fetching wife UNDRAFTED do the honors.
