You could probably take like six teams/stables with HHH in them and not be "wrong".

Sam Muchnik

Muchnik was instrumental in the creation of the NWA in 1948 and served as its President for two stints totally 22 years. He would found the St. Louis Wrestling Club shortly thereafter, which would become one of the premier territories of the NWA for close to 40 years. "Wrestling at the Chase" would produce 1100 episodes of St. Louis Club Wrestling and become of the most popular local shows in St. Louis. Muchnik and the St. Louis Wrestling Club will be remembered for grooming a Hall of Fame-worthy group of wrestling superstars including Ric Flair, Harley Race, Terry Funk, and a host of others.

Sgt. Slaughter

Slaughter is most well-known for his feud with Iron Sheik in the mid-1980's, his later run as an Iraqi sympathizer that would lead to a WWF Championship run in 1991, and, finally as "Sgt. Slobber," the authoritarian foil to Degeneration-X. His career spanned almost 40 years, though, winning several regional and tag team championships before becoming a main event attraction in the early 1980's. He was also a part of two of the earliest mainstream "hardcore" style matches, with an "Alley Fight" against Pat Patterson and a "Boot Camp Match" against Iron Sheik.

Just realised LKJ went out of turn, action was on Poncharello but I'll allow the pick. Gonna pass on my final pick for now, will make it later. We're now in free-for-all mode, DWetzel owes 7 picks, isolated owes 2 picks and me and Poncharello owe 1 pick each.

Ah dammit, sorry. Obviously would have handed the pick over if Poncha showed up timely and wanted it, but we would be well past his skip at this point as it is.

Well, as long as we're in free-for-all...if Arn Anderson can get his own individual induction without getting mocked, it seems kind of crazy that this guy has gone undrafted individually. He's objectively more valuable than several of my other picks.

Spoiler:

I select Scott Hall. He had a very strong career in the WWF, and only got bigger from there in his WCW run. His initial appearance on Nitro is one of those all-time historic moments that few wrestlers get to be featured in during their careers. Hall had all of the talent needed to be a world champion, though it's understandable that a company may not have wanted to entrust someone with his demons with that spot.

Oh sorry, by free for all I meant the people who don’t have 20 can fill their rosters when they want. That’s probably my bad. Can have a true free for all after that if there’s any interest.

I've thought about taking Edge for like 10 rounds because it seems like factions/teams are separate from individuals but I thought it was a ****ty thing to do . He was taken as part of the team of Xtian and Edge.

I’m gonna take Abdullah the Butcher with my 20th pick, pretty sure he hasn’t gone.

So was Chris Benoit totally blacklisted by all drafters, or was anyone considering taking him at some point?

(I would never have taken him.)

I assumed that everyone at least had to think of him for long enough to dismiss him, even though it was a snap-decision for me.

I considered it for at least the last handful of rounds and even just to round out at 20 (I left mine at 17). So I guess I blacklisted him. If I'm assigning someone to induct him, I have to assume they're going to say something decent about his life as well as wrestling so I just couldn't do that. He's certainly HoF worthy w/o the baggage.

Two old-school names who should have been drafted (IMO):

Toots Mondt (very influential 1920s guy, part of the "Gold Dust Trio" along with Strangler Lewis and Billy Sandow ... from what I've read Sandow was a third wheel and not really worth an HOF nod.)
George Hackenschmidt (British pioneer, also big in Australia)

I was hoping that True North would write up his Ted Turner pick, because I really don't see it. Obviously his willingness to open his wallet was significant in the course of wrestling history, but I'm under the impression that he did little intermeddling in the actual wrestling business.

Jim Londos is another old schooler who should have gone, I never got round to taking him though.

Hey guys, apologies. Got ill, life sucks, etc. at this point it’s probably pointless to do anything other than bow out. (Alternative answer: I prefer a really exclusive hall of fame.)
