I think NWO era Hogan is a fantastic pick. He was my number 3 overall. Imagine if Cena turned heel today, he would be the most over wrestler on the planet. Basically that's what you get with Hollywood Hogan in this scenario.

I don't think HBK is a first rounder here but I don't think it's a big stretch. That look is going to make it much harder to get over these days (especially as some kind of hunk) regardless how good one is in ring or on the mic. Why I asked the appearance question and thinks it greatly lowers the value of any guy like pre-2000 that doesn't wear standard ring attire for the most part.

Would have the other 3 in my first round as well tho.

He'd be my two I'm pretty sure. Guess the cluster**** starts at three for me.

I guess I take

Super
John Cena

He has been a main eventer for a long time and the other reason he isn't major over is because he has been around forever .

I'm fairly certain a fresh John Cena would be possibly be the top draw in this .

And he's one of only a few people who can be the face of a promotion

If I'm understanding the rules correctly I have Hollywood Hogan as #2 behind SCSA, but I'm probably not understanding them correctly. My face is having a very tough time surviving some of these picks.

I think Rock is the clear number 1. I love Austin, but idk if that gimmick would be as successful now as it was back in the late 90's.

Yeah with the way I'm feeling about the rules there's a crystal clear number one. I actually have it as

1. Undrafted
2. Hollywood Hogan
3. Undrafted
4. Post-UFC Lesnar (getting to put him on every show makes his value much higher than it otherwise would be)
5. SCSA

Super Cena is also a good pick.

I can't for the life of me think why not. I forgot about Rock btw, I may have taken him ahead of heel Hogan.

I think I've found the best pick to melt faces and win the draft but not sure round to pull it off

Wait did a version of Rock get drafted and I missed it somehow?

I'm probably wrong about Austin, I just feel part of it was the right situation at the right time. With that said I still had him as 4th behind Rock, Lesnar, and Hollywood Hogan.

I think the problem with Hollywood Hogan is that in 2017 people expect to see the stars wrestling frequently and almost every Hogan match was the same. In 2017 I think the fans will tire of him more quickly than in his actual era. That's less of a problem for a heel but it's still a consideration in this draft

So if a gimmick only lasted let's say 3 months. We only get a guy for 3 months or we can get it as long as we want ?

Oh I'm so pulling out the obscure gimmicks that the plug got pulled on later in the draft .

i don't think his mic work would hold either

Sorry about that, my version of The Rock is the version around 2002. However you want to parse that out is fine, but I want the loud mouth baby face version.

Hogan was on TV almost every week and wrestled often enough. Also is it true that people expect to see stars wrestling frequently or is that just what happens? Lesnar seems to be doing fine.

FWIW I think Hogan's mic work as a heel is actually overrated but don't see why the value of it would change much from then to now. I don't think it's that important anyway in this case, it's more just the fact that it's Hulk Hogan that will draw heat/ratings. I do value mic work pretty highly in general though.

On phone so no cool write up but I'll happily take Chris Jericho. His gimmick really hasn't changed a ton over the years but if you pin me to an era I will go with the early WWF version. That character is basically him now but with more wrestling ability, and it'll translate very well, and is one that will do GREAT with social media and WWE programming and the like.

FWIW I had Rock 1, SuperCena 2, then a large gap.
