Well, I suppose that depends. Non-ironic rendition of the other color gimmick in the 80s is actually probably worse for purposes of this draft. As a comedy reprise like in '99 or '00 or whenever, I could maybe see him making it work if you forgo tragic unnecessary stunts.

Black Hart was only ever a face, not a very effective one at the time and wouldn't get better with age. To have the whole Owen spectrum available and to pick Black Hart is all kinds of spew.

He also wasn't the gigantic ******* like he was back in the day. By adding HBK in his second run, I am adding a fantastic worker, and get to have a HBK/Rock match, which is probably my number 1 dream match that never happened.[/SPOIL]

His original gimmick was fine as a midcard gimmick in the late 80s. He was just a JTTS. He got a near-fall on Mr. Perfect at WM V with a crucifix - which I had never otherwise seen at that point - and undrafted announcers put it over so well that he nearly just broke up Mr. Perfect's perfect record that it stuck with me, and my kid self actually always felt like he could have been something.

The fact that he was able to do flying moves that the rest of the roster never attempted made the character, the look, work fine IMO. But that was a really short run with that character.

Born-again HBK seems fine here, but he won't do much edgy stuff for you anymore and unlike IRL, the fact that he was seemingly less of a huge jerk backstage doesn't really help when the name of the game is just about getting and staying over.

I'm really liking riddle777's company. Prime HBK facing Omega or Nakamura would be something I'd pay a lot of money to watch, and a Crow Sting/Legend Killer Orton feud would work very well imo.
