The Main Event of the Show

Seth Freaking Rollins vs ResidentSleeper

Rollins returned to reclaim that which he had never lost. His return involved a wonderful special on the network which showed his path to recovery and made him as likable and sympathetic of a person as possible. It was filled with rehab, interviews, and having to watch Rollins watch Wrestlemania from the sideline. It was emotional. And so naturally the first night back as people cheered for him Vince decided he needed to be a heel dammit because cheers are for Roman only. So they had him run down the crowd. He still got cheered. So they had him not say anything. He still got cheered. Then they decided the best way for him to not be cheered was for him to be off television instead.

I may not be a wise man, but I'm also not a dumb one. All signs point to Reigns winning this one too. Signs also point to me giving up and tapping out until Smackdown exists as its own show in a month and I can avoid this Roman nonsense for the next decade.




The Secondary Main Event
AJ Styles vs John Cena

Build has actually been fun. There's a saying about the devil you know vs the devil you don't. For years I was annoyed at Super Cena being the ceiling, but now that I know what the other devil is when Cena isn't around I can only hope Cena is here to stay for a few more years.

Will AJ continue to just get beaten despite having a numbers advantage? Will his 8 finishers be enough to keep someone down or will he just succumb to a single spear AA and call it a day?




Other things that will be there


A ladder match will occur. I expect Ambrose to win so we can spend the next 8 months having two storylines revolve around Roman (title match + HIS BEST FRIEND THAT HE'S NEVER HELPED OUT ONCE HAS THE CASE). Luckily this will be a Raw storyline moving forward.


Rusev is going to try and crush Titus


The divas have a tag match. Nobody cares about them anymore. I think it's because they stopped using the people actually cared about. Anyone still wanna tell me that I was wrong and that the WM loss for Sasha was just the start of a wonderful, long, proper build to make it special at summerfest? Sure she might win it at summerfest still, but at this point who the **** cares?


The 4 way tag match is sure to be confusing as people tag in people not their partners throughout the match, ensuring that if a pinfall occurs they can't be the champs.

My prediction, Cersei goes over all of King's Landing with Wildfire.

Roman Reigns gets right up and spears her, Superman punches the resurrected Mountain and pins the entire Lannister army all at the same time.

I just realized that if WWE was smart, they could have totally redone the HBK/Razor WM X feud/ladder match. All Rollins needed to do was show up wearing the title he never lost while Reigns wore his; suspend both belts above a ladder, and boom, we have compelling TV.

What an odd premise to start from.

That would also require the WWE to use stipulations correctly

Considering Game of Thrones + NBA Game 7, I was wondering if there was even going to be a thread.

This has to be the most unfortunately timed PPV (in terms of competition) in history, right?

I realize it matters much less now because of the network.

I'm not current on GOT so that's not a consideration for me tonight, will try to multi-screen this and the NBA. With a weaker PPV I would just forgo WWE, but I think this could be good.

They also ran that angle back in 2011 after Punk disappeared with the WWE Title. The only compelling thing about it is that Punk and Cena were able to make magic whenever they wrestled each other.

Rollins/Reigns, Styles/Cena and MITB could all be pretty good.

Going to try and stay spoiler free to watch AJ/Cena later. Got $170 on GSW so I'm definitely in for that instead.

I can't remember the last MitB PPV that wasn't good, so even if the storylines are dire, the matches should be good.

It's not really a PPV. People who have the network are going to watch it whenever and still pay their $9.99. I don't see how he actually loses much here.

EDIT: It's almost like saying Netflix is nuts for releasing a season of House of Cards the same day as the Superbowl or something like that. It doesn't really matter nearly as much with their new model as it used to a few years ago.

idk, ive always been a casual nba fan because everytime I start to get into it something really sketchy happens and I just stop caring. when i moved in high school my new group of friends really liked basketball and that was the first time I really watched. It ended up being the year of the lakers/kings series in 2002. I watched it, lold that it was obviously rigged, and didnt watch again til I moved to Orlando.

I started to get into it again because I had a local team around me and my new friends there were from orlando and had been magic fans for ages. so we started going to games and watching a ton and I started watching a lot again. Then a year later the 2007 suns/spurs series happened and I lold that it was obviously rigged and barely kept up outside of the casual Magic watching (which coincided with their good run so it made it easier).

I moved after school, stopped really watching until getting into DFS basketball a couple years ago (minus some casual watching of the finals). Watched a fair amount for a couple years, started to get into it more, watched more than ever this year thanks to just wanting to watch something awesome happening with the warriors. Plus the Magic were fun to watch. But after the suspension in game 5 and the foul out in game 6 (the line actually moved when the officials were announced, which blows my mind) I just can't find myself to care again (to clarify, not that they want team X to win, just that they wanted it to go 7 and made sure it did. Don't think thats a suspension in a 2-2 series)

Obviously there's no question that the NBA is a glorified olive oil company that should have its integrity called out at every possible turn, and a person who turned it off and kept it off eternally is probably a better person than all of us combined. That said, I'm interested in tonight's game.

Unless you're worried about being spoiled right away, live-watching any pre-taped show like GoT over live sporting events mystifies me. IME, the live thread for NBA/NFL etc. are overwhelming and filled with a lot of crap, too, so WWE always takes precedence for me, no matter how bad it is (and our threads are entertaining no matter how the product is doing).

I mean, the matches themselves are basically always good these days, until they have to finish them.

it's very possible that this is legit the most talented roster ever assembled by a wrestling promotion. I don't know them all to say for sure of course, but I feel comfortable saying it is for WWE.
