No reason to ever have pac about floyd. One of them has a 0 at the end of their record. The other has a 3.

I'm curious why you would put Pac above Floyd as well.

Alright I'll try to make a semi-serious post for once.

Op,

I agree with the names in the top5 but disagree with the order.

1) First of all, you're out of your mind putting Sergio above Floyd. I guess this has more to do with you feeling because you're pro-pac you need to be against floyd, than anything else you could rationalize?

2) While i agree that you can make an argument for Pac > Floyd in terms of a p4p ranking, i personally would put floyd at number one.

This is first and foremost because of them being very similar in size and i think it's without much doubt that Floyd is actually the better fighter; this is a very legit criteria for a fantasy ranking like a p4p list.

Secondly i feel Marquez without much doubt won the fight against Pac. That argument won't hold up when arguing official rankings, but in a made up fantasy creation like p4p, it's reasonable to account for.
In comparison, theres no way i would rank Floyd at number 1 if he had a showing like in the first JLC fight where he arguably lost.

And the third reason is due to me feeling Pacs resume since 08 is somewhat overrated.
I really like the win against Cotto and his fight with Marquez, but the versions of Oscar, Margarito and Mosley he fought were extremely diminished in terms of ability.
The hatton fight is hard to rate. He looked very good against Malignaggi but struggled greatly against Lazcano.

What sets pac apart from most others in this era is his 130 and below run. His fights against the mexican trio most notably. Hes had a better CAREER than Floyd.

With this said i still rated Pacquiao #1 mostly due to floyds inactivity. This changed with the Marquez fight.

3) Martinez gets a lot of props for his capturing of the lineal mw title (and i would root for him against both floyd and pac) but i feel his body of work is too weak to be rated over either of the top 2.

6-10 is fine.
I don't get why everyone ranks Wonjongkam, but it's hard to argue against his streak. I just don't feel hes even the best fighter in his division, and theres too much fluff on his resume. Personally I'll leave him out.

Bradley feels borderline. I'm on the fence about him being a top10 p4p.
Alexander is just not a great win, Peterson is crafty but not remotely on the level of segura etc, witter was faded and it's 3 years ago. I guess "being unbeaten" counts for something, but he needs to get a defining fight sooner or later. Devon wasn't it.

Froch and Ward is completely fine. No disagreement here. The winner of that fight this weekend will be #6 or possibly higher.

I really love the inclusion of Brian Viloria. It could be recency bias on my part, but i thought very highly of segura.

Also, why not B-hop? His fight against Dawson was rightfully overturned into a NC.

TL;DR
Nothing to see here. Read at own risk; I was bored

My top 10.

1: Floyd Mayweather
2: Manny Pacquiao
3: Juan Manuel Marquez
4: Sergio Martinez
5: Nonito Donaire (with the caliber of opponents available to him in his weightclass and the classes just north of him could put him at #1 if he was matched more aggressively. Bring on Gamboa, Moreno, Mares, Salido and lopez.. wow the potential)

6: Ward/Froch
7: Bernard Hopkins
8: Wladimir Klitschko
9: Brian Viloria
10: Anselmo Moreno

I'd put floyd and pac as co number ones at this point. They've both earned it separately, imo.

Also, I know most people will probably hate this, but the Klitschkos have dominated HW so thoroughly that I think they have to be in the top ten. If you're going by "who is the most dominant against their opponents/weight division" they've got to be there.

Wlad for sure is a top10. I'm not as sure about Vitali. Hes fought horrendous(ok maybe not) competition since fighting Lennox except for his bout with Adamek.

Floyd #1. Wlad is pretty good and would do ok in most eras but come on, the division is very weak - not a top 10er. This is the only good thread on this forum. What a weird forum. Is there really that big a crossover between boxing and wrestling fans? The two "sports" have a ring in common and nothing else.

There are very good reasons for having Floyd above Manny but this isn't one of them.

mike jones never beat anyone to make him worthy on this list. Not even on a top100 list in fact.

He could be here in a year or two or even in 10 years.

This is a best boxer pound for pound list. Not a who have you fought/beat so far. Mike Jones is arguably the best pound for pound boxer in the world right now and when he faces the pac-man he will be +++++EV

well, you would need something to actually test said skills. It's really hard to judge the caliber of a fighter if they haven't fought anyone.

Mike Jones won't fight Pac. Bob Arum may say hes an option but he isn't.
