This music video led to ACDC becoming my favourite band. Absolutely brilliant.

Bump.

I could have put this in the big Mania thread, but didn't wan to derail what is being discussed in there.

So I just finished watching the 1999 Rumble again and yes it was awful, but I think what bugs me the most is the finish. All Austin had to do was chuck Vince over the top and win the match. I know he "wanted to enjoy" kicking his ass or whatever, but couldn't he have done that after he won the match? Instead, he beats on him, the Rock comes down for a "distraction" and Vince wins. If Austin was worried about the Rock, why didn't he just wait for him to get in the ring? Vince was finished anyway, so it's not like there was risk of a 2 on 1 assault. Terrible match, even worse finish.

When people are watching these things live, especially less analytical people, I don't think many of them think like that during the match, particularly during the middle of such a hot storyline. I mean, listen to the crowd when Austin gets thrown over the top. It is stupid, especially out of context, but I can see why they would do that. They were targeting people caught up in the heat of the moment and trying to shock, not impress people watching 16 years later.

After this many years, you would think that wrestlers would figure out that toying with your defeated opponent has a success rate of 0% in a fixed event.

http://www.chaosmatrix.org/library/humor/evilovl.html

seems to apply to a lot of wrestling stuff

For instance, Kane winning a casket match against Undertaker? Read #3.
