The Scott Hall on Nitro one? I'd have probably took that with my first pick if Hogan wasn't available but then let it slide for a bit in the interest of variety. Wasn't letting it drop any further though, legit first rounder imo.
Having said that, I was originally going to pick something else in that spot. Surprisingly the promo is question is still available so hopefully I can pick it up this time. Bracing myself for the snipe though.
I thought about the man of 1004 holds but as littlekeed said it's kinda ruined by Tony Schiavone. You can hardly tell what Jericho is saying at times. Plus they go to an ad break in the middle of it. That team is very strong though. I should have probably took the coconut with my second pick in retrospect.
In the interest of keeping things moving, since I haven't heard from DW yet, I'll go with this one in round five (no Youtube link, sorry)...and NO ONE CAN STOP ME:
Steve Austin's first ECW promo. The first inkling that Austin might be more -- much more -- than what we saw in WCW. Looking back, it should've been obvious to everyone what was coming...you can hear the seeds of Stone Cold being planted in this promo.
Spoiler:
1. Ric Flair - "With a tear in my eye"
2. CM Punk - "I'm a snake"
3. Jake Roberts - "Let me touch her again"
4. Randy Savage/Hulk Hogan - WMV debate
5. Steve Austin - "No one can stop me"
"Then I get bumped from Backlash? I'm not good enough to call Backlash!?"
Spoiler:
Joey Styles Quits Raw
A reach indeed, but I do love seeing The King getting buried and rightfully so. Another one of my favorite worked shoots. Nothing has changed since then either. This is what we should see announcers do if they are gonna do angles, not actually wrestle.
Paul Heyman "Death To WWF"
CM Punk "Happy Birthday"
Mick Foley "Cane Dewey"
Shawn Michaels "Barber Shop"
Joey Styles "I Quit"
Stone Cold at his best. This was the RAW before Wrestlemania 15. Austin interrupts the Corporation by driving out in a beer truck, delivers a short but strong promo, and then douses Vince, Shane and Dwayne in beer. This is remembered by many as one of the best moments of the attitude era. Vince swimming in the beer was great.
Spoiler:
Team:
Hogan heel turn
Jericho WWF debut with The Rock
Flair WWE farewell
Scott Hall shows up on Nitro
Austin beer truck
Considering Austin has basically played himself in every movie/TV show and has had sporadic appearances in WWE the last 9 years, I think he'll be fine. Not like he's been playing tooth fairies or cab drivers
I'll get the video up later but I'm gonna take the promo where Vince is in the ring on RAW and Shane shows up on Nitro saying he's bought WCW. Might be spew but I want a varied collection and this is a one of a kind promo.
