You've all picked legends of the ring. Time to go a different route.

SRM says that Undertaker is an upper midcarder without that entrance. Maybe he's right, maybe he's wrong.

But there's no denying that this guy is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING without this music. He main-evented a WWE PPV for ****'s sake. You think he gets this far without this theme?

Enter Sandman is a great song, and I don't completely hate the choice. I do think, though, that first and foremost it's a general great stadium rock anthem, and that "it was once used as a wrestling theme" is sort of a footnote for it.

Also I'm not entirely sure that he couldn't have been a star in ECW without it, considering that for some reason Tommy ****ing Dreamer was a star in that company.

ECW is the only company I can think of where the crowd being hot detracted from my enjoyment of it. What value is the pop of the crowd if they are popping for Tommy Dreamer, The Hak Sandman, and the random bull**** angles?

I mean, he's certainly right in that Shawn Michaels's theme somehow went in the first round, but the thing is that at the very top of the draft, it mostly does need to go to guys who hit the big-time, because the very best themes do elevate a guy to big levels of overness and that gets them pushed to the top. That, in turn, becomes part of the package of a top wrestler.

Are you going to spend huge money for the rights to Vodoo Child for Barry Horowitz? Are you going to spend ages coming up with a song for him? If you have a great theme, are you going to burn it on a nothing? You are going to spend more money and time creating and purchasing songs for the top guys. The correlation between great wrestler and great theme is going to be strong for many reasons.

I really enjoy Flair's, but I think there's a fair bit of downside in a song that opens with a slow crescendo into being able to hear it at all in terms of how good of a wrestling theme.

Just in terms of classical music being used as an entrance theme, Savage >> Flair just because you get an instant recognition in the crowd with the first bar of Savage's song.

I've always been partial to that one as opposed to the "heavier-sounding" version he used for his 2011/WM XVIII return.

The one wesrwood posted was debuted at No Way Out 2003 for Rock-Hogan II.
