A quick search says that Dustin had one previous Meltzer 5 star, a War Games match back in 1992.

That has to be the longest gap between 5 star matches by a significant margin.

The only other significant gap I can even think of is Punk going from vs. Joe in October 04 until vs. Cena in July 2011.

edit: a smaller but notable gap would be Austin from that same War Games 92 match until WM XIII 5 years later.

You can't really give any one guy credit for a 5-star match in an 8- or 10-man thing like WarGames was.

My apologies for not getting the Meltzer PPV buys right (didn't realize the 200K number was something else).

I'm only 20 minutes into the Talk is Jericho Jon Moxley podcast, but yeah, it's basically confirming everything we already either half-knew or could guess about the WWE creative process and Vince.

I've wondered a fair amount recently just how long Vince is going to hang on running at least the creative ship. I wouldn't be too surprised if it's not much longer.

Yes, I'm one of the people who think HHH will pretty quickly right the creative ship (for the most part), as long as the corporate board allows him the freedom. I've been looking forward to that day for about five years now.

I'm looking forward to the same, but I'm less optimistic about the possibility of Vince voluntarily handing over the reigns anytime soon.

The board could force it if WWE keeps losing money, as it did in the first quarter. Seems unlikely, but you never know.

Also, have to imagine his XFL relaunch will take plenty of his time/energy.

Considering how the company's stock price has reacted when something happens adverse to Vince entirely in kayfabe, I think it would take quite a while for the board to go full no-confidence on him despite recent negative trends.

In terms of him voluntarily quitting, I suppose every man has his breaking point, but the fact that he was continuing to be a weekly on-screen presence even while he was up on federal charges, it seems like he's faced down a lot worse without really wilting.

The XFL thing is a fair point. But I still tend to think that he just hangs around like a black cloud over WWE creative for quite a few more years.

I agree with what Moxley said on the podcast, Vince will die in the chair before stepping down.

My two biggest takeaways from these Ambrose interviews are that Vince sucks just as much as we've all assumed and that Ambrose is a pretty bitter guy. Those two deserved each other.

Funny, I didn’t get bitterness from him at all. I thought he was just honestly relieved to be gone and thrilled to be excited about working again.

Just watched the latest Botchamania that includes AEW clips.

Wow, Jericho did look to be in god awful shape.

Jericho looks like he's 48. I will say it again: He wrestled his ass off at Double or Nothing. Don't judge him by how he looks anymore.
