Lol, camera pans to crowd following finish, people literally running for the exits.

What a terrible event. It peaked with an overbooked, disappointing opener.

What a show. What. A. Show.

I mean, it certainly was a show. That's about all I can say.

What was meltzer referring to when he said it’s an experiment

Nothing in particular. He was just looking for a reason to excuse how bad the ppv was up to that point. Funny that it only got worse from there.

That main event didn't make me just hate Roman. It made me not want to see Joe again and Joe's a terrific performer but what a god awful match.

There was literally no point to the Roman/Joe match. No build, no story, nothing. Which, I guess, given the state of the WWE is kinda par for the course for a lot of matches on ppvs these days. But there was absolutely 0 reason for it to go on last, after a WWE championship match. The only reason I can think of is because they didn't want the night to end on a double countout.

Who produced all the bull****.

I had no idea Tyson Kidd became an agent after his injury. Good for him and good on the company for that.

I suddenly want Michael Hayes to die. The hot start to that segment to whatever the **** happened once the bell rang was quite the contrast in quality.

Big John booking that finish in the Charlotte/Carmella match. I'd fire him just for that.

It's also weird that they call Arn by his wrestling name but John and TJ by their real names.

Really terrible event. Miz-Rollins was the only match that I might consider somewhat good, and it was fatally flawed too.

I haven't watched yet but twitter and now this thread has absolutely **** all over this event so I'm kind of curious. WWE should do a recap type thing like NBA league pass does condensed games.

Saw this on twitter as well, the main event must have been awful, feel bad for Samoa Joe.

Joe didn't earn your pity on this night. He put on a performance worthy of being walked out on.

By the way Kabong, if you're inclined to just go back and look for lowlights out of morbid curiosity, definitely stop off for the post-match of Nia vs. Alexa and watch Nia's cringeworthy promo. I'm still having traumatic flashbacks to it this morning.

I love the way this goes from having compassion/empathy for one guy to wishing death upon another in one sentence.

Live TR won’t provide anything you don’t already know

The good:

Crowd was super hot for opener. Agree it was overbooked but the false finishes had everyone in the arena hyped. It did feel like a match I would complain about itt if I were watching on my couch but being there live made it more exciting and I really enjoyed it surprisingly.

I didn’t love the AJ/nakamura match but it felt like I was in the minority. Everyone seemed to be pretty into it though I heard plenty of people before/during/after the match expressing their confusion as to why it wasn’t going on last

Elias segment was super over. Probably another thing I don’t enjoy nearly as much if I were watching at home. Rusev is extremely over

The bad

Nia Jax/bliss has no reaction aside from Alexa’s entrance. Match was boring and predictable and most of the crowd was groaning or headed to the bathrooms pretty quickly. Nia Jax needs to lose weight or something because she is dreadful to both watch and look at currently. Absolutely disgusting. Lots of boos during her post match interview which was horrendous.

Strowman didn’t sound to be super over though it could’ve been due to where he was in the card. People just wanted to go home by the time the match started and the ending sequence was way too long. People were restless.

The ugly

Roman/joe obv. Crowd tried to get hyped for it and joe got a nice pop and Roman got a loud negative reaction when he came out. So the crowd gave it a chance but everything clearly went downhill very quickly. People were running for the exits way before the ending too. I’ve never seen that at a wwe event and I’ve been to a ton (bad ones included)

You might be surprised with regard to thinking you might not like the Elias segment from home. Even the humorless grumps like me were surprisingly entertained by it.

The mass walk-out really is something though, particularly by a crowd who does not seem to have been predisposed to hate on the Reigns-Joe match beforehand.

Yeah still can’t get over it, I’ve been to plenty of bad and insignificant events and never saw that kind of exodus. I’d say about 10-15% left early on in the match which prompted the “beat the traffic” chant. At that point another 10-15% or so headed for the doors. When the bell rang people couldn’t get out of their seats fast enough and many were already out of their seats and watching from the gate exit door.

I may have mentioned this before but a good friend of mine used to be roommates with Big Cass and we planned to get drinks with Cass and some of the wrestlers after the show. Was with a group of guys who have varying interest in wrestling but all of us were really excited to hang out afterward. By the time the bell rang we were all so bored and exhausted we agreed we’ll just do it next time. That’s how badly we wanted to get out of there

I live in Jersey and basically have gone to all of the big Raw/PPVs in the NYC metro area the last 3 years. Didn't even consider going to Backlash because I just couldn't buy into it as a possible good PPV. Saw prices on stubhub that were pretty cheap yesterday afternoon and almost bit, but stayed home instead.

Thank god, awful show.

But yeah, disko, as LKJ said, the Elias segment worked for basically everyone in here. Anything he does is gold.

This. As much as I tend to dislike these overdrawn segments that amount to nothing, and that I think the E is insane in thinking that they have to 100% have some kind of dancing gimmick for every period of their history, I really enjoyed the segment for what it was.

Not much of a surprise. Miz has been one of the most consistent performers of the last 5 years.

You should go on the network and cue to the end of the match. It's really something to behold. Reigns gets the pin, and the camera cuts to the crowd for their reaction, which shows about 4 rows all getting up at once and heading for the stairs, nobody really looking at the ring.
