We’re proud to announce the first online fantasy sports championship of its kind: The DraftDay Online Championship of Fantasy Sports.

This 5-day fantasy baseball event will showcase DraftDay’s best, culminating in a $20,000 Main Event on Friday May 25 (view Main Event Payouts).

With over $40,000 in guaranteed prizes, players will compete in a variety of game formats including Turbo, Hit It & Win, and reduced salary cap, while battling for position on our Player of the Series leaderboard.

Player of the Series Point Structure

In addition to big guarantees, DraftDay will also be running daily satellites, offering players a chance to win a seat in the Main Event for as little as $1.

Player of the Series – The DOCOFS will also feature a Player of the Series race to recognize the top performers of the Series. Points are awarded (see point structure) to each player’s highest cashing lineup. The top point-earners at the end of the series will be eligible for additional prizes. Here are the top awards:

1st – $1,000 cash prize AND a heads-up game vs DraftDay Endorser and Sirius XM Radio Host, Kay Adams. If you can beat Kay, you’ll win an additional $1,000.

2nd – 11th – Private 10-man game with $1,000 in cash prizes
(1st – $300, 2nd – $225, 3rd – $150, 4th – $100, 5th – $75, 6th – $50, 7th – $25, 8th – $25, 9th – $25, 10th – $25)

Note: Players who cash in Event 4, & 7 will receive 25 points. In the event of a tie, the highest single team score of the series will be used as a tie-breaker.

In multi-entry events, only a player’s top scoring lineup will receive Player of the Series points (e.g. Player A submits 10 lineups into an Event. Five lineups cash and one lineup finishes in third-place. Player A only receives 60 Player of the Series points for that event).

So circle your calendars for the week of May 21 – May 25 and get ready for the inaugural DOCOFS schedule (Guarantees in BOLD):

May 21 (7:05p) – Event 1 – $10 Warm-Up $10,000

Yeah, unfortunately we underestimated the turnout for the games and don't have the liberty to change a prizepool / field-size once a game is posted.

We're making adjustments to the rest of the DOCOFS schedule to accommodate the turnout and prevent this from happening the rest of the week.

We put up some AL/NL-only 2nd chance games so that everyone can participate, but those games do not include Player of the Series points. Top 3 finishers will receive a free seat to a qualifier for the $20,000 Main Event though.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I really hate to pile on from the other side, but expanding events 5 & 6 after I already registered was not cool. I got shut out of event 4, so signed up for those early.

I do appreciate the fact I was able to unregister. You can't do that on other sites.

I think the next time you do this promotion you should announce field sizes & max entries UP FRONT.

Thank you for the input.

We tried to avoid making any changes from the planned schedule for the DOCOFS, but we needed to increase field-sizes for some Events to accommodate for more players. To clarify though, the field-sizes were never changed once the games were posted in the lobby. We would never alter a game structure once registration is open.

Being the first-ever DOCOFS, we anticipated needing to do some adjustments on-the-fly. We've learned a great deal with this series which will help future ones run much more smoothly.

could you guys just add a 2nd chance Main Event if you cant alter the one posted?

getting locked out of the main when in contention for the player of series is a big beat.

now have to rely on backing in through some sat's today and this sucks.

We reserved several seats to the Main Event and will be slowly releasing them over the course of the day so make sure to check back for a chance to pick one off.
