This May, DraftDay introduced a first-of-its-kind daily fantasy sports championship series, the DraftDay Online Championship of Fantasy Sports (DOCOFS). The DOCOFS awarded over $50,000 in prizes across nine events.

Nearly 2,500 fantasy baseball lineups battled it out over the course of five days, fighting for position on our Player of the Series leader board.

In light of the success of the DOCOFS and the immense amount of positive feedback we received from our players, we decided a sequel had to go into the works. Beginning July 20, the DOCOFS II will kick off with more games, bigger fields, and larger prizes than before. With over $85,000 in guaranteed prizes, DOCOFS II will feature 15 events, comprising many of the classic daily fantasy formats that we’ve staked out in our always-busy daily game lobby. The winner of each DOCOFS preliminary event will also win a custom DraftDay avatar as well as an entry into the week’s flagship game, the $40,000 DOCOFS Main Event.

Besides the massively multi-way action of our preliminary events, DOCOFS II will also feature the internet’s first-ever Heads-Up Fantasy Event. This bracket-style tournament will play out over the entire week, with players pairing off throughout the field for one-on-one matchups and drafting a new lineup each day until a single champion is crowned.

Just like last time, we’ll feature a DOCOFS Player of the Series leader board to recognize the top player during the entire series. Each player’s top cashing lineup will earn points towards the POS leader board, and the top point-earners will qualify for additional prizes — including a $1,000 cash prize, a private $1,000 heads-up game vs DraftDay endorser and Sirius XM Radio Host Kay Adams, and a private 10-man game with $1,000 in cash prizes.

Played a few of the first one, and loved it. Played the 2nd one after I found out, but was dissapointed to miss the HU event since I had no idea it was starting. Will these be scheduled more in advance at all so we can know beforehand? Or if they'll be done at the same time every year?

Also it seems pretty annoying to have all these different style events, without a good explination. I love the different ones similar to different games, but can there be a page on the website explaining each style of event, and link them with the DOCOFS so people know what they are? Had to ask in chat to figure some of them out exactly.

Sorry about any confusion in the game formats. We get a little too comfortable when describing games, forgetting that new players might be a bit overwhelmed by all the small nuances. We'll be sure to include more descriptive explanations of each format in the future.
