Hospitalized with pneumonia? Hell yeah, pop those pills like they're candy. Step on a rusty nail? Stuff handfuls of antibiotics in your mouth before your jaw locks shut.

On the flip side ...

Minor sniffles? Go home, get some sleep. Routine washing of hands? Soap and water does just fine, it's the mechanical action of scrubbing that matters more than what you're scrubbing with. Cleaning a floor? Dilute bleach kills everything.

Mythbusters episode 147. It's more important that the sick person work to control the spread.

a healthy person would find it very difficult to avoid being contaminated by a sick one who did not attempt to keep from spreading his/her germs.
One of the reasons I ask for table changes is to get away from sickos.

It is really sad to think of all the germs we poker players expose ourselves to. I try to minimize my risk and not stress about it.

I only use only my right hand to touch chips, never touch my face at the table, move away from coughing or sneezing players, run from those with runny noses or tissues, wash my hands after every session with soap, and wash my hands prior and after going to the bathroom during sessions.

I never eat at the table and pretty much am cautious more than in other situations in life. Some people do look at. E weird but it's Vegas so who cares. I figure people come to Vegas from all over the world and I rather not catch some int'l flu or even some domestic flu.

And I always wash my hands in the restroom. Before I touch my dick.
This is spot on

Extra paper towel to open the bathroom door with = free. Being judged by someone in Vegas = priceless

Anyway, why do some guys here keep saying they only use their right hand to handle the chips? Who cares if you use both hands to handle the chips if you never touch your face at the table and always wash your hands after a sesh? Are you trying to keep one hand more pristine than the other? Not seeing much sense in this tactic.

Since it usually takes a couple of weeks for the illness to incubate you may be getting sick doing those other activities and not noticing for a while. Since you already think it's from the card room you may just have a stronger memory for the times you do get sick from there without realizing that you get sick just as frequently doing your general activities. Or maybe you play cards in a particularly dirty card room, Rockingham maybe?

No way I'm waiting until I get home... the second I'm done playing, I hit the restroom and wash my hands. And I dont touch anything on my way out of the casino! Last week at The Comerce, people were sneezing like crazy. I saw more than one person sneeze into their hand and then continue handling cards/chips.

The Flu, you develop symptoms 2-4 days after exposure and are infectious a day before you develop symptoms.

I'm more in line with this as well instead of the two week theory.
