Define best! Attractive? Feel? Durability? What do you mean?

I was thinking feel and attractiveness when I posted..but whatever qualities anyone would like to use are great with me!

I like the chips at TI. I think they are very pretty.

Caesars Atlantic City

Did anyone use the Palms Casino chips that were featured on HSP Season 2? They looked oversized, are they? Does the casino still use the same style of chips?

I really like the chips at Canterbury Park in Minnesota. They use Bud Jones composite with insert. Nothing fancy, but it's what I used for the first 2 years of playing cards(this is probably why I like them).

I recently bought a bunch of $1 chips off of ebay. The Aria has a pretty classy design, I like how the Wynn has a big plastic disc that covers the entire middle of their chip and Caesar's Palace has a cool design on the outer area of the front of the chip.

the borgata has some nice looking chips, but they suck at shuffling

Agreed nothing tilts me quicker then a ceramic chip, they are okay for home use but they can't take a casino beating well imo

yeah ceramics stink... I'm not super crazy about the borgata chips either.

what companies make the best clay chips?
03-27-2012 , 12:10 AM
I love the way the borgata chips look. They are awful for handling though. They seem to alternately stick together and slide off each other. I always spend the first 2 hours of a session fumbling around trying to get used to the chips again.

But the Borgata black chips make me excited.

the best... that is a personal choice because most makers(that still make clay) use slightly different formulas.

Personally, I love the paulson formula because they are slightly tacky and have a very slight textured hand to them that allows for grip... whether in a stack or in your hands. Then there is ASM(atlantic standard Molding), also top of the line and they still do customer based custom orders(with minimums of course). Lastly I also like chips from BCC(blue chip company), they will also entertain custom orders, but the minimums are much higher and the formula for the composition is harder than the Paulson chip... very unique chip. almost like china in comparison to paulson which is more like pottery(those examples are for illustration purposes, the chips are not actually that hard).

then you have to consider the pattern, BCC has some of the best patterns around based on the fact that they are simply classic patterns. Paulson also has good unique patterns and of course top of the line custom patterns, and I think ASM comes in a distant third in the pattern dept.

Paulson is the largest company by far, ASM is second and BCC is a tiny company in comparison.

Worst. Chips. Ever.

Has anyone made a portable "hand crank" chip cleaner. Something small. Say you would dump in a stack (or rack) of chips and turn by hand a crank that would grab a chip srcub it, release it and then move onto the next chip.

Or even an automatic station, where waiting players could dump in their chips and have them washed. Or perhaps the cage would wash them upon return.

I would love to watch a player sitting there and cleaning 1000s of chips 1 by 1. I would probably pay a decent amount to someone to wash a stack of chips for me and then I would use those chips to play with and only use the others for betting.

Most players buy in with a 100 or 200 chips. So I don't spending the 10 minutes
to wash a rack would be so gruesome. By the way I have seen a player go and get some sanitary hand wipes and precede to wash his chips one by one.

Take your chips home and run 'em through the dishwasher. Bring back spanky clean and disinfected chips to play with the next session.
