4/8 limit holdem

ep raises, bunch of callers, I call K8o in the big blind.

25Qx

I check, ep bets, folds to me and I call getting 12+:1 with my overcard and backdoor flushdraw.

Ko

I donk, he calls

river bricks, I bet, he calls

I show, he mucks and says "ya nice call on the flop buddy"

I say nothing, but the dealer was apparently amused because he says "I've seen him call on the flop with nothing before. This aint the first time and probably won't be the last. I think he's a professional."

To which I say nothing.

To answer the op:

I don't like it but I'm not going to go out of my way to educate players on strategy or ethics at the table. It's kinda like being a kid, when one of your friends is doing something dumb and or out of line and all you can do is let them make an ass of themselves.

Sounds to me like that dealer is way out of line.

Sounded to me like a reverse implied bad beat story.

I've experienced something similar. I was involved in a pot against a guy who had me beat in a hand. I folded after I check-called OTR, and this other dude asked what my kicker was, because I have to have at least an ace to call there. I said it doesn't matter, then he turns to a player near him and says I'm the tighest guy at the table.

I got pissed and told him not to do that, because it's ****ing rude. I said if you want to make comments about players, do it away from the table, not when they're right there.

It's as if poker is exempt from this basic principle of courtesy and decency. At least he was cool enough to realize he was in the wrong and apologized for it.

This. Most 1/2 games locally it takes a $12 pre-flop raise to get anyone to fold, and even then, rags will still show up.
