I am perfectly logical enough to know that it's not a big deal and that you mean well. Just don't touch my stuff. That's all
This!

The chips in front of me are mine. As are those in front of you yours. Once they get dragged into the pot they're the houses; the dealer will make change for you.

Or in short--don't touch what isn't yours.

Sometimes when I am eating or on the phone, the dealer will put my blind in with a simple nod from me.

the comment on chip superstitions reminded me of this from the other night. An old asian lady racked up to go and i needed chips for two bills. As she walked by i asked her and she takes the bills then says i dont like to sell my chips but hold on. she then walked to the cage cashed out her rack then bought me two stacks and brought them back.

I mean, this is really it, but if you want an actual reason, if you're touching my chips, or any chips that aren't "yours", there's a very slim chance, but still a chance that you're palming some chips or doing some sort of shadiness. Let's take the entire possibility out of play by not touching my stuff. Thank you.

Something that horrible players almost always do is apologize to you when they suck out on you. I usually leave the table for a moment when this happens.

Well that settles it! I am horrible! (Or just a live poker troll).

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet:

Limp, call 6x+ raises PF, then play fit or fold post flop with 15bb stacks.

Horrible players usually move around a lot at the table if there are open seats so they can sit in the "hot" seat and start winning. They don't.

Even if the player touching the other player's chips, or making change, is 100% honest and has the best of intentions, he or she could make a mistake, or there could be some beef about whether the change was made correctly; and 100% of these kind of beeves could be avoided if people would just not touch chips in front of other players and leave the change-making to the dealer.

I guess I play in an environment where everyone is a trustworthy reg bc we all touch each other's chips all the time. Sometimes for no good reason. I'd probably feel differently playing commerce tho.

Also I have tried palming chips (not stealing but just picking up my own chips with my palm to see if I could do it). It looked very unnatural and I couldn't even get a hold of the chip. I'm sure skilled palmers could do it, but it's not easy. Try it sometime.

I have seen some pretty crazy tricks with cards and chips before. I can't do it either.

A strict no chip touching rule would slow down tournaments exponentially during the ante stages but i still always double check with my neighbors before making change for oversized chips for the proper ante amount. I wouldn't touch people's chips in a cash game not because I care about people touching my chips but just because I know how much it bothers some people. Good examples of that here. Not saying I think such reactions are warranted but once you are aware that people are often touchy about something it kind of makes you an ******* to keep Doing it IMO

I know what you mean but I have to disagree.

When I'm in a tournament with antes I find just being the one guy that puts out a sensible chip allows the dealer to make change efficiently (ex. antes are 25, everyone at the table puts out 25 because they all have two green chips they just have to use, I put out 100).

Declaring they would of binked the winning (or a big) hand with some garbage that they obviously wouldnt or shouldnt be playing preflop. I do this kinda jokily, but people who actually are seriously gutted when their 2 6 would of made trips on the river, following a 6 bet pre.

Do you declare that you need change at that point?

Having $2000 on a 1/2 table where cash doesn't play and having everyone well covered and refusing to sell some guy they just stacked $100 worth of reds for a $100 bill when you know the house is busy counting rake/ bbj drop because his chips are lucky. I ended up selling the guy chips instead and I only had $500 behind.

Um. If cash doesn't play, shouldn't buying chips be illegal? It's exactly like going south.

It's (supposed to be) only temporary. So when the guy goes to buy chips, rather than have him wait for a chip-runner and play behind, you sell him the chips so that he can play, and give the money to the chip-runner yourself. This avoids players with phantom stacks and generally speeds up the game.

^ +1

also, my latest bit: asking "if I call, you wanna check it down?" Tilts the **** out of me but I snap-mark anyone who says it as a fish
