Was playing a tourny blinds were 50/100 old lady limps I have AA toss out 1 blue (500) I did not say raise. I also had a stack of blacks (100) dealer says raise to 500. Guy to my left quikly fires 1 black and says my blue is a call looking for change even tho I have 12 blacks. Dealer changes the raise to a call get 6 limps and loose to 106o turned trips. Just wondering what the rule is there. I'm a huge live fish in a casino and never play live. Also to nice to call the floor over and make a scene

I'm not gonna pretend I know what the proper ruling is but I would have at least stood up for myself without rolling over so easily.

You called.

It just doesn't make sense cause I already have blacks and the dealer ruled it a raise and knew I was raising

It's pretty clear I'm raising also when the blinds are 100/200 and you put out a blue and black that's a raise. Also if I put out a green it's a raise I don't agree with it and pretty big dick move from buddy on my left calling that. Also he's wearing a hoody in ontario witch I don't think is aloud and could have been a dick back and called him in that.

42: Oversized Chip Betting

Anytime when facing a bet or blind, placing a single oversized
chip in the pot is a call if a raise isn’t first verbally declared.

To raise with an oversized chip, raise must be declared before the chip hits the table surface.

This is a call.

This is a very very old rule, in pretty much every rule book, including the WSOP, TDA, and RRoP. It doesn't matter how many chips you have behind you, because maybe you just want a collection of 100s.

You say you're new to live poker. Trust us, we've heard all your reasons before. This is a call, every time, all the time.

Fair enough just another reason to play online rather then live

There no diff between 1 chip and 2 to me. They should just make it anything has to be verbal to do anything to cut this out from happening

I think it's just ignorant to make that a all when they no I'm raising play dealer rules it a raise

Although it's my stupidity to not say raise but %85 of people don't but lesson learned

Wow, really? If that's your attitude, then yes, please do stay out of the juicy, juicy live games.

They don't when they're using multiple chips. They do when they're raising with one chip. Most of them say it loudly, and make sure to have the dealer's attention first.
