So here is the story, last time I was in Vegas a few months ago I sat down at a table that had this person talking about this awesome $120 buy in (I think that is the amount pkus or minus a few bucks) buy in poker tourney that every Saturday attracts something like 300 people. All I remember is that it wasn't a Casino that was on the strip, but for the life of me can't figure out its name. And my search on the internet for this has proven fruitless.

Any Vegas regulars know what casino tourny he was talking about?

They have a $125+$25 10k NLHE Freezeout at noon on Saturday. I don't think that really qualifies as a "big game", but based on your description, that is my best guess.

No regular weekly Vegas tourney gets 300 runners that I know of.

Binion's Saturday afternoon $125? Or The Orleans Saturday evening $100? AVP claims both get about 100 players.

He probably means the Friday night tournament at Orleans. It attracts a few hundred or more players every week.

Best value for a Saturday tournament in Vegas would be Binion's.

$125 entry, 20K chips. $10,000 guaranteed. 20 min levels 1st hour, then 30 min.

Most of these guys are correct... I've been on the tourny grind in Vegas for over 1 year now. For that price range there are only a few places that come to mind with a large(r) number of runners (in no particular order):

Binion's 2pm (Sat & Sun), $125, $10K gtd, 20K stack

Aria 1pm (daily, but biggest fields during the weekend), $125, 10K stack

Orleans 7pm (Fri but get there early so you're not on alternate list), $125, prob most runners for a weekly tourny

Orleans 7pm (Sat), $100

Aria 7pm (best on weekends), $125

The only place that I saw that was close to getting 300 runners was the Friday Orleans, but that number is closer to 100-250 runners.
