I am playing a few events and some cash at the Commerce Sat 2/16 to Fri 2/22 and have been unable to find a hotel room nearby that is clean/safe. Most are booked and the few that are vacant seem to be dirty (bed bugs, etc...) and people complain that they get stuff stolen from their room (reviews from google, hotels.com, etc...). Looking to stay somewhere from Commerce to Monterey Park but if there are better suggestions I'm ok with that too. I'll have a rental car so I don't mind making the drive through traffic if it means a better price and cleaner/safer place. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

From your message I infer that the Doubletree down the street is booked? Do you have a target rate?

Perhaps the Embassy Suites in Downey might work. It's about 10 minutes away from the Commerce.

Both are booked. Any suggestions for places anywhere around LA that are nice and economical? I will just consider the longer drive (time + gas) the cost of a nice/cleaner/safer place. If I had to stay in a far away suburb but get a good place/cheap then that is ok.

I was hoping $100/night but it looks like that is not likely too many place. $150/night is most of what I can find.

This one is about 20-30 minutes south of Commerce along the same freeway: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/trave...da-buena-park/

This one is about 30 minutes or so northeast, but not on a freeway that provides easy access: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/trave...adena-arcadia/

Both include free internet and hot breakfast. If you are willing to drive further/longer - you might want to also check out Pasadena, Santa Monica and/or Manhattan/Redondo Beach. Drive will be longer (45 minutes or so in traffic), but there will be some night life and things to do to pass any down time. Good luck!

Guest House Inn couple of miles further along Telegraph Road to Commerce. Stayed there two weeks ago for a few events. Got a weekly rate on the phone of $350. Not luxury but fine.
