Just say "yes" then snap muck your cards when they fold

my brother would say "this aint my first rodeo."
I think it would just confuse people even more, and they would fold.
I dont talk...ever.

Re: How do you reply to Will You Show If I fold?

I say either "Maybe (,I don't know.)" or "I'll show if you show" depending on how badly I want to see their cards.

Re: How do you reply to Will You Show If I fold?

I think your primary concern should be what keeps bad players happy, at the table and feeling positive toward you. I think the concern about giving away information is highly overrated. I've seen a lot of really bad players who were ATM's leave a table because of some smart a** answer to this question. I'll never show unless they agree to show their cards as they fold them and whether I'll show or not depends on my evaluation of the situation at the table as a whole (this takes into account all the players at the table). What I won't do is be rude or nasty to someone who asks this question, which is what I see often occur (followed by the asker tightening up or leaving the table).

Re: How do you reply to Will You Show If I fold?

I personally just sort of shrug and say something along the lines of "I don't know yet. Haven't given it much thought." if it is a friendly person I say 'yes' and then show. I tend to always have a big hand when I get asked this and nobody believes me so I am able to get through the next few orbits stealing pots... since everyone has a short term memory and thinks I am only playing big hands.

One of the funnier answers I have heard is: "Show you? Why would I show you when even I haven't seen them yet?!"

Re: How do you reply to Will You Show If I fold?

If you are bluffing, say"yeah i will but you gotta promise to show me next time i wanna see" this will make the player more likely to fold... cuz they know theyll see, then they see a bluff.

If you have a hand just say"no not a chance i cant show " then theyll think they gotta be a hero and call jsut to see, alot of people get curious here and end up calling

Had a chance to use the "ill show if you call" line last night and the dude still folded... I think he was gonna fold no matter what.

Sounds like you're angleshooting yourself more than anyone else... so if I'm not sure if you're bluffing or valuebetting, all I have to do is ask you if you'll show and you'll basically just tell me?

Exactly. If they ask the question--they're gonna fold.

Re: How do you reply to Will You Show If I fold?

Last time this happened to me was in a 3-way pot, I had 99 vs. suited connectors and AA, flop was 578, two of the suit the SC guy had. I bet, he called, AA raised to 100, I reraise to $260, SC folds, AA asks if I'll show. So I said, "Sure, you already know what I have anyway." He said "nice set and folds face up, I show the 99 and the table congratulated me on being the boss momentarily.

I usually either say no, or I'll show one card. Depending on the player/situation its either I pick, they pick, or I pick random. Nice to sometimes show down a maybe bluff or a maybe nut, and get the fold to leave em guessing anyways.

Re: How do you reply to Will You Show If I fold?

Interesting one concerning this Saturday night at a 2/5 game (my first time attending game). Pretty aggressive player raises pre-flop to 20, I called with K10, heads up flop 0f 10 3 2, two spades. He bets 25, I raise to 65. So he says, "You got QQ beat? Will you show if I fold?" I say, "Well, I have AQ beat, so I should be good." He shakes his head and folds. It got a pretty good laugh from the table.

Think it depends on the situation, person, mood etc, people sometimes drink alchohol...etc.

Poker comes with a skill of deceiving so whatever you say or don't say depends on your level of skill of deception.

Sometimes say yes sometimes say no sometimes say nothing at all. mix it up. there's more than 1 way to kill a poker player

Re: How do you reply to Will You Show If I fold?

Last week in a 2-100 game I was asked this.

Picked out an aggressive player, who still knew when to fold. We got heads up pre. I floated to the river and reraised him max when the flush draw hit. After soul reading me for a minute or so, he asked me if I'd show. Instinctively my eyes shot to the left and back forward, as I thought "Hell yeah I'm going to show when you fold" but didn't say anything. He said "He wont even talk to me!" And after a little more self discouragement he mucked his hand. I flipped over 7-2o and watched his face look over and over for any connection to the board. None.

I racked up and left before the blinds got to me. No doubt the highlight of my day.

I think the best answer is no answer. Your tone of voice means more than what you say, you could give information intending to deceive.

I usually don't say anything relevant to the question, but sometimes I'll agree to show if he'll pay 10xbb.

I feel it depends on the person. I'm a open, vocal guy at the table. I try to bring a fun vibe to the table, for various reasons. If someone is trying to get a read off me & I sit there quiet/head down it would give off more info than if I was being my usual outgoing self.

Just start slamming your palm into the side of your head and screaming in a "siren of death" type screach.
(Kinda like in "RainMan" when they go to bathe him)

They'll never ask again!
