Bagging Chips at the WSOP/C Bagging Chips at the WSOP/C

I've always bagged chips going into next day putting my city and sate where I currently reside (Wisconsin) - this is what's on my drivers licence. Accordingly, it always appears on the wsop.com website under USA flag. I am not American, I am Polish, I just live here. I would like to be listed under Polish flag and from the past chip bagging I noticed it will only happen if I list an appropriate country.

Question: So, if on a bag I list a city where I was born and my country (this will accomplish my desired result of being listed on the website in chip counts appropriately) - will I have problems when I show up next day to play? My Polish passport is expired, so I would have to show my Wisconsin license.

Never done that but thinking of trying it next time...

Are you sure that this action will accomplish your desired result?

What happens if someone bags their chips and says they're from Mars? Would the WSOP dutifully post that they're Martian? I doubt it. I suspect your flag is determined by the form of ID you show when registering the tourney.

I would contact the tournament organizers about changing your flag.

FWIW, I further suspect they will not. Your nationality isn't recorded so you can show your pride or loyalty, it's so they know how to withhold taxes from your winnings. Different countries have different tax treaties with the U.S.

They would simply put dashes for city/country and no flag at all if unreadable or not provided. Take a look at Day 2C chip counts from this year's main event, for example (82nd Kai Paulsen).

Yuval Bronshtein with whom I final tabled HORSE last year in Hammond does exactly that. He lives in Atlanta but every year in the WSOP runs under Israeli flag (his homeland). It was my first circuit final table so I was too excited to ask him about that, thus my question here. Here is the link to that HORSE event:

As you can see he is listed under Israeli flag. Mine is USA because I wrote Racine, WI when I bagged chips at the end of day 1. I am certain if I had written Poland, I would get a Polish flag.

So for the sake of thread let's assume that whatever city/country is written on the bag will yield the same info on the website, and the flag. I'm just not sure if there will be trouble next day when I show the dealer my Wisconsin ID.

I will ask about that a TD before a tourney next week, figured one of you may know.

e-mail Hendonmob (support@thehendonmob.com) and Hendonmob will put proper City and Country on your profile. They did it for one of my friends.

The country of origin has nothing to do with the official casino records and nothing to do with what nationality you're from. They note the country of origin because people are interested in how people around the world are doing and there's no way someone would ever stop you from playing the tournament because of what you said.

Steve O'Dwyer was born and raised in America (AFAIK) but lists himself as Irish. Feel free to put Poland and you will be fine.

Thanks a lot, I thought that should be the case but always good to check with 2+2 ! If I make day 2 in Hammond, I'm listing country of origin as Poland this time!
