Atlantic City: Which casino to go to? Atlantic City: Which casino to go to?

04-23-2013 , 03:55 PM
Don't know which subforum is the most appropriate for this question:

What are the best poker rooms in Atlantic City? I'm visiting for the weekend and am interested in playing NLHE 1/2, 2/4, 2/5. So, anything with up to $500 buy-in. Which casinos have the best action?

revel

revel, borgata////////////

Those that are saying Revel are either ill informed or trying to drum up business for Revel. Revel is a great room, but they have very limited action for anything other than their Friday Night tournament.

he said weekends

The best room is Borgata, hands down....definitely visit there and put in some play. BUT-Atlantic City is a fun town. See more than the Borgata. Visit the boardwalk and the boardwalk properties...and have a blast. Hit the cheap happy hour at Atlantic Club all the way south on boardwalk. Visit Tropicana where Phil Ivey learned to play card (sadly the card room is all but dried up) and have a fun meal at Carmine's in Trop. Caesar's is a beautiful property with good action in the card room. Visit the piano bar on the 13th floor at Resorts and go drinking at the Irish Pub(open 24hrs!). See if there are any good acts at the house of blues at Showboat while you're around. Visit Revel and ride the big a$$ escalator. Get a sub at the White House. Have fun and enjoy some great meals while in town.

No need to get your panties in a ruffle. Look at the title of this thread. If you want an experience during the weekend. Revel is the place to be, not Borgata. The building is state of the art. The flowers are high end + vegas level drunk.

Revel's 1/2 offers a larger buy in of 500 to Borgata's 300. Action is limited to weekends but certainly a good spot to check out if it's a weekend trip. Beautiful resort. Borgata is where I play but I mostly just prefer having games non stop since I play weird hours.

Borgata is nice, lots of action and games.

When I go with family we usually go to the Taj. Busy poker room, reasonably good action, and right on the boardwalk. It's nice to be able to go outside and walk by the ocean for a break.

Haven't been to Revel yet.

I recommend Cuba Libre at the Trop for a meal and The Borgata for poker.

I don't wear panties and am offended by your insult. You are one classy guy. The OP specifically asked which casino has the best action, and if you really think the answer to that question is the Revel then you have no idea what you're talking about.

best poker room for what you asked is Borgata. idk why people are recommending revel but it might be a level

Lol, based upon your pm and the fact that you are clarifying the fact that you don't wear women's underwear I am now unsure. Was I actually claiming you wear panties or was I just saying you were getting really emotional over something pretty irrelevant? I was going for the latter, but your sensitivity to this issue hints on deeper issues.

Anyway, yes I agree if you want to play 2-5, 5-10, any type of plo borgata is definitely the only option in AC, but to just say borgata and ignore a beautiful new casino with a state of the art poker room would be insane imo.

If I was heading to AC this weekend with friends, you can bet ur ass I'd be hitting Revel. For someone who has chance with the girls, Revel is better choice. Borgata is old hat, Revel is a legit party destination. High end liquor is free in the poker room. BTW, this friday is their(Revel's) monthly 10k tournament. **** maybe I am shilling for Revel, pause, not.

Pro tip: the guy who can't take a joke about being gay, worries about being gay inside.

OP,

You are there for the weekend so why not try both Revel and Borgata?

When you feel like playing 1/2, hit up Revel. When you want to play 2/5, hit up Borgata.

You can never go wrong at Borgata and have plenty of options for table selecting.

Revel 1/2 with it's $500 max buy in creates some deeper stacked play and great action. True there will be less games to table select but I've yet to find a nit fest there.

And if it's pertinent to this topic, I wear boxers

revel didnt shut down? i thought they were doing horrible only after like a year of being open.. also heard they offered comped rooms with like 6hrs of play; not sure if they still do or if this was even true in the first place

another +1 for borgata, you'll have action 24hrs of the day

Revel is the absolute best casino/hotel I've been to, design wise. The poker room is a long walk from most areas though...i haven't seen Aria yet though, not sure how that compares

Borgata/WaterClub is the best casino overall in AC, comfort/games

just my opinion

Borgata for the marina, Showboat for the Boardwalk.

Harrah's has always been my favorite poker room in AC. Excellent, friendly staff and just generally other nice players to sit with around a table (subjective, but that's been my experience in a dozen times there...).

Plus they're interconnected with Casears, Showboat, and Bally's (whatever you do, don't actually play at Bally's, lol) with a Mega Bat Beat jackpot... sure it's rare to hit but a nice potential bonus of $1-$2k if you happen to be sitting at ANY table (in any of those 4 rooms) at the right time.

And if for some reason you get tired of it, the Borgata is a 10-minute walk...

Somehow I missed your reply to me.

I don't hate Revel. In fact I wish it did better than it does. Also, I know all about how many they got at their monthly 10k tourney since I made the final table... only got 8th though, all in pre with JJ against A-7, of course A-7 ends up with a boat. [/ mild brag]

And for the record, it's not the gay comments, it's the fact that you felt the need to get personal.

Somehow as in, I(you) didn't miss this, but you as in I haven't been online for like 24 hours and maybe there is a chance you as in I won't see this.

Nice to know after getting owned online you ran well in a 100 person donkament in a place you attempted to disgrace. Also, nice brag, you final tabled a 100 person tournament with a terrible structure then found 8th brag-worthy. How much did you cash for? I don't care how you busted. Oh man A-7 beat JJ, sick beat bro.

Cliffs:FromACtoLV, says Revel is waste of time. FromACtoLV final tables 8th, in a 100-130 person tournament at Revel. All the sudden Revel isn't so bad.

You have no clue. One night a month when they have their $10k guarantee its decent because there is a legit chance at an overlay. On a good weekend they have 2 or 3 cash games going, and they don't go 24 hours, so I don't see how I got "owned". If you want to schill for the Revel that's your business, but look on Bravo any time of any day and there are 10 times more games going at Borgata than Revel. The only time that isn't true is the very often times that Revel doesn't even have a single game going since 10 times 0 is still 0, which also happens to equal the sense you are making in your attacks.

Edit: Also, part of your argument was how many people were in their tourney on Friday, and now all of a sudden it's a crappy tournament with bad structure. And for the record at this very moment, Borgota 19, Revel 1.

You win sir. I have brought much shame upon my screen name. Your arguments are irrefutable.

Yep, I'm an idiot. OP asked...

And I foolishly said Borgata over Revel.

Per Bravo right now, Borgata 20 games going. Revel ZERO.

You're right. I'm an idiot and I apologize. OP should go to Revel, he is guaranteed not to lose if there is no game running.
