King's is open for 1/2 from 11-5 and 6-130AM Thur-Sun, Yes. Occasionally they will get something else running, but not lately that I've heard of. 2/5 and PLO just eat up too many chips, especially at night. There is 2 tables 'for sure' and 3 tables a lot of the time, both day and night. They do run out of chips quite often, which causes the tables to dwindle a bit before Midnight.

Tournaments are evenings at 7PM, Yes. Not sure the status of Sat/Sun day tournaments right now. GL

Motor City Casino BBJ is at 766K ... with the long weekend approaching you may want to slide in there and see what happens ... GL

Eastbrook is usually pretty good from 400 to tournament time ... I've never really been there later on too much. First table starts right away and the 2nd gets going by 430 most days. You really should call/text by 100 or before if you want to be on the first table ... 616-717-2124 is the last number I have for them.

I have no reason to believe their cash play suffers during the tournament but it may drop down to just 1 table. I think they get 2-3 tables for their tournaments but it really depends on the day of the week.

The big kicker there is that they close by Midnight last I knew since the building doesn't trust them to be there alone I guess. Rumors on how that happened that are't worth discussing.

Westgate is open Wed to Sat as well. I was there on Sat night to bowl with my kids and they were only 6-handed at the time. I've never been there on a Wed but they usually have 1-2 tables on Thurs or Friday, but it can be very inconsistent. GL

King's was a little slow on Friday (day) .. still 3 tables for a bit, but never a list to wait and only 2 tables running at 500.

MSPT is going on at Firekeepers right now ... Should be some really good cash games tonight and tomorrow. Didn't make it to Day 2 as my KK couldn't beat QQ aipf ... GL

Eastbrook is staying busy this week. 2-3 cash tables before tournament.

Firekeepers $400 this weekend, 1000 start, get your piece of over $100K w nearly $30K up top

FK BBJ just hit .. down to $20K

Looks like Woodys might be gone for good this time. Word has an arcade going into that space. No word on potential day games .. Not sure if King's is looking for a 2nd location or not.

King's has slowed down a bit as well ... They still had chips at closing the last 2 times I've been there ... GL

If you're talking about weekends, some of that could be high school football. At my old high school (Mona Shores) there 11,000 there a couple weeks ago for the Muskegon game.

Westgate should be Wed to Sat. They open at 430, but early at 300 on Saturday ... close at 130ish each night. The last time I was there on a Saturday they had one 7 handed table going at 8 PM. It is very hit and miss there but I don't go there too much anymore as it is due to my schedule. I would think there are times when they have two tables going but I don't want to sway you either way. As far as the action, it would be the same mentality, sometimes great and sometimes nitty. I haven't been there at 'open' in over a year so I don't know if they get going right away or not. GL

It's been a month ...

1) Westgate is going back to a Thursday-Sunday schedule sometime 'soon' and they are going to try and implement tournaments again as well. They are looking for dealers.

2) Eastbrook has been steady with 2 cash by 500 pretty much every day, if not sooner. People are moaning a bit but still showing up since it's the only game running on Monday and Tuesday for sure.

3) King's is still going strong on most shifts but I don't think they've been running out of chips as early ... but still running out of chips at times. They have been entertaining a RxR list on the day shift if there's enough interest and chips available. Saturday is usually a sure bet since they have the PLO tournament.

4) Westgate has had 1-2 tables running a lot of nights, probably since we are into the cold weather season.

5) Firekeepers $400 is on New Year's Eve .. might be a way to spend your day hours before the party starts. No reason to watch Lions/Packers either .. GL

Tournaments can change from week to week at some rooms. The best thing to do is call the room when they are open to find out what's going on. I've never seen a charity room structure published ... so on that note, good luck!!

King's Room does have their tournaments on their phone message, so if you call when they are closed you can listen to it. Their number is somewhere in this thread ...

Round by Round ... It's when the table alternates playing NL and PLO for one orbit each. It's a nice way to start to learn PLO and still have a NL round for a breather!! GL

I will check on Muskegon, the room is only seven miles from my house.

I haven't been there this year. My project for this year has been to build bankrolls on some online sites so that I always have options as to when and where I can play. I will be playing live next year as well.

In 2016 I posted the Muskegon information. The tournament director assigned dealers to give me the information, but all three of them stopped sending me anything after a month or two. I'll go back and bug them again.

I confirmed online and by phone call that Northway Lanes in Muskegon still has an active poker room, and according to the state they are open Thursday through Sunday.

I will try for today, but it might be Saturday before I can go in person and try to get some details out of them. It's a strange place. Good people and some decent tournaments, but I had to practically beg to get information. Nothing is written down (at least that they will show me) and the three dealers that were assigned to send me E-mail updates all stopped after a month or two.

I was there last year when a walk-in (bowler) asked about their games. The staff member was trying (unsuccessfully) to give him the details from memory. The dealer didn't even wait for the guy to get something something on which to write, he just started babbling. It was embarrassing. That bowler is probably playing in Grand Rapids if he's playing at all.

I will get as much information as I can. Days and times open, tournament buy-ins and structures, cash games, the usual stuff. If there is anything you would like to know, let me know so I can ask. I will check this thread later today.

Winding down an interesting 2016 ...
1) Firekeepers $400 is still lurking on New Year's Eve. 1000 AM start. I assume attendance will fall off and there will be an impending chop around 8PM so folks can go celebrate .. but you never know. (I wont be there )

2) Remember that Westgate will go back to Thursday to Sunday schedule sometime in January. Make sure you call or check the Locator link and also remember that hours on the license don't match the poker hours.

3) Eastbrook still had 2 cash tables going last night at 900, but a seat or two short.

4) I don't mention Lincoln much, but it looks like they are Friday to Sunday. This gives TJ's staff a day off .. Thursday.

5) Haven't really been out much, but I'm sure King's is doing just fine without me!

6) Don't forget about Motor City .. BBJ is 1 MILLION $$ .. and they are now on the Bravo Poker App so you can keep an eye on what's going on if you want.

7) There's a little chatter that play in Muskegon has picked up a bit since the cold weather has moved in. I've never been there but maybe some day.

8) If you are interested in streaming poker. The PokerGo App is having a special right now .. $79 for a year plus a hoodie. I have this and find it worth it's price for me. I've never paid for any Twitch.tv stuff before (like Live at the Bike) so I can't make a direct comparison but PokerGo will control the streaming of the WSOP events at the Rio and should do a wonderful job of it after a somewhat clunky start during last year's events IMO.

Remember to get your poker in by Dec 31st .. everyone tightens up as a 'resolution' after that ... for about 2 weeks (or one hour!). GL

Yes, poker in Muskegon is very weather and activity dependent. In the summer, people go to the beach and poker numbers go down. Numbers are lower on high school football nights as well.

I mentioned earlier that a game this year between two Muskegon County football teams drew 11,000 fans. Compare that to the city of Muskegon with a population of about 40.000 people. The entire county is about 100K. Yes, 10% of the county was at that game.

In the winter Muskegon can get a lot of snow, and people who are not traveling or doing a lot of outside things are happy to sit in a poker room for 8 hours. When I say a lot of snow, the record in one season is 240 inches (20 feet.) I remember my father using a snowmobile to get to work and people skiing down our street.

Played tourney at Kings Saturday. 5 full tables. Cash game had 15-20 on waiting list at one point. Definitely thriving from what I could tell!

Holland room (Railhouse Grill) has stopped trying sounds like. They told me it was more difficult than they thought to get a room started. Unfortunate - would love a place that close.

Westgate had two tables running early and then fizzled out by 1000 PM on Sunday. There have been some pretty deep games there lately ... even one table that converted to 2/5 during the night. You just need to catch them when they are there!!

Word has it that Firekeepers will have a high dollar Bounty of some sort on President's Day weekend. It may take the place of the $125 that would normally take place that weekend since players may have Monday off and can play deeper into the evening without issue. Nothing is on their website or Bravo at this time that I can find.

Eastbrook had a RxR going last week Monday night that went about 3.5 hours. There seems to be increasing interest in PLO and RxR at King's as well.

King's has been full steam ahead as usual. There were a couple of $1800 stacks a week or so ago when a couple players got 'into it' ... to the tables benefit for sure!! GL

OK .. Very nice of FKeepers to get back to me via Twitter ...

1) 5th Sunday tournaments this year will now be $500 .. The first one is April 29th. Looks like they still start at 1000 AM, register early!!

2) Feb 18th (Sunday) they will have a $350 ($100 Bounty) tournament instead of the $120 at 1100 AM. 20K in chips (Presidents Day thing since they think folks may have Monday off)

3) Feb 19th (Monday) they will somehow be giving away $100 every 30 minutes starting at 1100 AM in the poker room.

4) Their BBJ is getting close to room share, $75K, which always adds to the excitement in that room. GL

King's opens at 1030 and usually gets a table going by 1130 on Thursday and Friday, if not before. When the second table starts is usually the question ... and there 'should' be a third/fourth most weeks, certainly by 230 or so. They've even had the occasional RxR if it wont affect the 1/2 tables too much AND if chips are available. There are some days when they get close to selling out in the afternoon!!

Remember that King's shuts down to change charities. It can be very difficult to get a seat at 600 if you weren't already there when they shut down on Thursday or Friday .. You may have to wait until 700 when the tournament starts for cash seats to open up depending on how busy they are.

Eastbrook Bowling (M to W) opens at 400 and closes by 1130. You will need to text them 'day of' in order to be at the 400 table (616-717-2124) but they usually have a 2nd table open by 445. They have been having some RxR for a few hours lately as well.

Didn't know about this Facebook group so I will take a look at it .. GL

Kings had 3 cash tables running from 6-11 until I left (still going) Saturday night. One nice thing even though they close 5-6 you can get there before 5 and sign up for a 6pm table. I did that and then ate until it was ready. 7pm tournament looked pretty full. Fun night again.
