I think, I could write a big long story about what it is like to be a reg at Del Sol. Let me sum it up for you:

The food sucks. I have known some people, that all they will eat from the buffet is salad. What was the deal with that crawfish stew? Had whole crawfish in it, shell, head and all. I'd feel bad if I ran that room and allowed such bad food. I mean, how can you eat that playing poker?

The shuffle machines are always busted. They rebuilt the whole room, and still have the same busted shuffle machines.

The dealers often make mistakes. They have some really bad dealers. You hafta make sure they do the math right.

I'll be around to make my football picks. Prolly don't expect me at the tables much though.

GL to you grinders though, I've been working. A job. Guaranteed money. I never lose.

I don't really want to be involved, but I've been told that I can host games this weekend. If people want. There's nothing set in stone, but we were thinking about having like a $100 buy in on Friday or Saturday ... take up to 20 players. No rake, pass the deal, just tip the house. Help pay the rent. Sadly, the guy that "runs" that place is a total jerk. I'm sure some of you know Frog. I was supposed to run a game there tonight that was supposed to start at 7 PM. By 9 PM we had 2 players, and I cancelled the game and left. Later I got a call from Frog and he was screaming at me for leaving "his room" without calling him first instead of thanking me for wasting 2 hours of my time, trying to help him pay, HIS rent while he was at work.

Within the first 3 days he choked a player. Physically got up and choked a guy. Someone heard the fight and called the cops. I wasn't there, but I heard about it. It's too bad because we had like 30 players at the Rialto game at one point. Was a good game, and it's all gone to hell.

I'd also be willing to return to Del Sol if I could sell some of my action to reduce variance.

I'd be happy to as I regularly play in both rooms. Del Sol is the "no"-limit room with good management, caring friendly employees, a wide and excellent food selection and great promotions. You can read all about the games in the other posts.

The Desert Diamond is the limit room. The food is marginal and you should avoid the Steak House. They rarely have a spread limit game but regularly spread 3-6, 4-8 and 4-8 Om8, all with a full kill. The drop is 3+2 with one of the 3 for the house dropping before the deal. There might be an 8-16 full kill that will get going 2 or 3 times a week. A 15-30 game goes every Friday early and on occasion on Monday morning. This is a time game that costs $5 per half with no promotion participation. It is the best deal in town. Recently this game gets through the supper hour and becomes VERY good. During the day it is still good but does not have the action players that populate the late game. Both the day and night 15's are populated more by loose calling stations than by grinders or action junkies.

The floor people have varied skills. Dave is very good and Felicia is way more competent than all the rest who are pretty poor. The dealers have all been there for many years and most have a solid level of competence excepting 3 or 4 of the long term tribal employees.

Unfortunately the managment of the Desert Diamond is VERY bad, pitting each department against the others and managment against the employees. Attendance in the room continues to drop and the people that run the room don't seem to care. It survives because the location it great and more convienient to almost all Tucson players. In spite of this, the room is again losing tables and will have only 8 begining sometime in October, 2012.

I like this room because I am a limit player but now go only for the 15 and spend the rest of my time at Del Sol. I like to be treated like they want me to come back.

Yes, I believe we have played a couple of times. You probably don't know my name but would recognize my face.

I'm about 6 foot 1, 215 pounds. White guy with a buzzed/shaved haircut but usually wear a baseball cap that either says "NYU" or "Two Scoops". Tight aggressive is likely my table image. Sometimes I wear sunglasses, other times regular glasses.

It's pretty funny that this guy Frog would say to me, "Name a place and a time!" like he actually thinks I'll be all serious about it. We are in our 40's dude ... grow up. I am also much bigger and stronger than he is ... it's a joke that he thinks he can intimidate me.

Tell ya what though Frog ... you want to get a ring set up, gloves, mouthpieces, headgear ... I will knock your ass out. You wanna fight me on the street ... you go ahead. You do that. Start some shi* with me, and see how that turns out for you. You had the balls to threaten me? You don't know who I am. So, let your friends with computers call you and tell you about what I just said here. I have no problem saying it to your face. You have no idea who you are messing with. I don't threaten people with physical violence, because I don't have to. You wanna act like a teenager, calling me out to the bike racks ... not smart. I'm bigger than you, I'm tougher than you ... and I would squash you like a bug.

My advice to you, if you ever run into me Frog .... would be to leave. Quickly.

Also, it's kinda funny that ... maybe the person here who most knows "who I am", is not at all a person I have spent a lot of time with or even consider a close friend.

I tested into University High but I am THS, '88, I was a really smart kid that had to work really hard, just to be normal.

Also, yeah ... went to Arizona. An alumnus of a fraternity there too. At the drop of a hat, I got 80 local college students on a mission. Just, don't eff with me ... and I'm a good guy. Don't give me a reason .... and your good.

But I do enjoy .... every once in awhile .... totally ruining the lives of people that eff with me. It's sad ... really ... because they are too stupid to realize they are outmatched. Smarter people, don't eff with me.

Let me tell you some things about Frog. Watch him. Watch him close. He's an angle shooter and a cheater. I've seen him do things, that look like cheats, and I simply wont play him anymore. If he is in a home game, that's fine, I wont play with him. You want to play with someone like that? There's a reason why you never see him at Del Sol. Frog can't cheat there.

Watch for:

Calling light. He will sometimes splash the pot and make it impossible for you to know what the call was. Dealers, stack your chips.

Peeking the cut. I have seen him, in a pass the deal situation, he cut the cards and looked at the card before giving the deck back to the dealer. It's a small cheat, but still a cheat.

He may cheat in other ways that I have not observed, but I'll stake my reputation on this ... he's a dishonest person, and I will say that to his face.

Nobody cares ... Frog is gone, and we are working on a new group. Might have some home games again soon. Meanwhile, I played a little 1/2 at Del Sol. Lost like $120 to wheelchair George who wouldn't fold his pocket aces, but I made out ok.

90 minutes at 1/2. Bout tree fiddy. I'm comin' back Del Sol! Not full time ... you gotta watch out for my action. I'll be around.

Again, I apologize for the thread getting derailed but I was pretty upset about being threatened by a short, fat taxi driver who apparently thinks he's a tough guy.

And yes, that's the ranch I live at. My parents place. 5 acres near Cat Mountain. 2 houses, a studio structure as well as a semi outdoor "tea-house". Koi pond, small pool. Zoned for horses. We don't have any but our neighbors do.

Totally ADT'd out now. Plus the dog and the security camera. The dog ... is a total poosay. If you break in ... the dog will bark but she wont hurt anybody.

Latest report from Del Sol is food: nasty looking hot dogs with no condiments (empty mustard squirters) and mashed potatoes. Seriously, on a Friday night? It's sad.

I got aces cracked again. That's about a grand, in 2 hands, where I was 80% or better and lost.

I really wish they had an aces cracked promo instead of all this drawing BS.
