It's going to be a very competitive market, so we poker players will have a lot of great choices.
This might be the first time I've said this, but I completely agree with you, Rapini. Doesn't seem crazy at all.

If the Baltimore casino is ran the way Cleveland and Columbus's casinos are ran...MDL will have nothing to worry about! lol

It sounds like Cleveland started out really well and now is kinda a Charles Town clone insofar as poor management but more than enough action to make up for it. My sources are the PV thread for that casino and a guy I play in a home game with who visits family in CLE.

Based on its PV thread, Cbus is a mess just as you suggest.

Ocean Downs Casino.....2 minutes outs Side of Ocean City Maryland. Hasnt made a move on Table games yet, and is not answering any questions to that effect. I heard something about how they didnt want to pay the same taxes on table games and poker as the other Maryland Casinos.
I just heard today that they are building a huge addition to the casino and that it is for table games/ poker.
anyone else have any info?

I have heard nothing about that, but I'd imagine that might take some business from AC due to the beach resort setting.

When are they going to open Horseshoe and PG County casinos?

Horseshoe in Balt in 2014-2015. They have a website with casino floor layouts posted.

PG County location has not been awarded yet to the 4 prospective bidders; award expected end of 2013. Probably open 2017.

Horseshoe 2014 (concrete is just now being poured, will post pics next time I drive by there). National Harbor 2016 iirc (July 1 2016 or 30 months after Baltimore City). Staggered start dates was one of the conditions set in the legislation I think.

Beats me, the Balt casino is steel and cement right now. The PG casino vendor has not been decided, so it is not in construction.

http://www.caesars.com/Baltimore/about.html They are saying that the Horseshoe will open in 2014, no doubt what Mike referred to when he said the club is changing in 2014. It cannot open early 2014. It is just sticks and stones right now. Mid to late 2014 is doable.

I probably won't get up to Live until early October unless I get freed up on Labor Day, but looking forward to seeing what non-NLHE games run.

Curious those of you local to MD, how bad is this gonna hurt AC?

There was an article in the Post last week about how MD (and PA, and DE) are destroying AC to the tune of (I think) ~40% gambling revenue declines.

I'd guess it's more like a lot of the Philadelphia, Baltimore and DC players have decided no point in driving to AC. Although there may be a lot of degens in MD
