Arrrrgghhhh..... :-/
2/5 max buy in is changing to 1k in a few days.

Took somewhat of a break from poker during the last year or so. Didn't log on here and played only a few times. Just logged on last night and went back and skimmed the posts for the last few months and came across the posts quoted above. I went to the website and the place looks like a very cool place, but the prices seem really low for a room near the Boardwalk in AC, so I was wondering what the rooms are like. Has anyone here ever stayed there? What can you say about it? I wish I'd known about this place last Friday. I came down to play at Bally's for my birthday, but left early to catch a train, then came back on Saturday. If I'd known about this place I would have looked into spending the night there.

It's a cool old place with a manually operated elevator. The rooms are very basic which is why the prices are so low. The least expensive rooms will use a shared bathroom down the hall while the pricier(?) rooms have a private bathroom. There is no air conditioning and no heat (which is why they close right after Labor Day).

It's not a great place to bring the wife or girlfriend (unless you're bringing them together), but if you're alone or with some friends it's a better option than many of the flea bag motels in the area.

Thanks for all the great info. Sounds a lot better than some of the places I've stayed at in my travels. I'm fine with the bare necessities so I don't mind at all if there's a little dust in the corners or if I have to share a bath, as long as there're no bedbugs or fleas. Disappointed to hear that they close after Labor Day, as I'd be more likely to want to spend a couple days in the winter, when my work slows down. Seems like the no air cond. might be a problem in the middle of summer. Well, I just wish I'd come back to 2+2 last week so I could have known about this place when I was down there. Oh well, there's always next year.

Real quick, I have a question or two to put out there, Is there any house that uses slot dollars as a marketing lure to put in time on live games as a reward and does any house use sponsorship in exchange for advertising in the poker room??? I have some experience with these concepts and would enjoy some feedback on these thoughts.

Think of all that advertising bucks that goes out for a logo on a NASCAR hood and a little drop for Red B...... for a rake free hour or two sponsored by....It might lure me there for a couple of free hours no rake .

Thanks P.T. but I'm looking for the permission's and restrictions from N.J. I had the Del Park experience for a few years and when we set up the regs before openings we did all we could leaning toward L.V. regs to avoid the roadblocks to commerce.

Looks like the Ten Casino was sold a couple weeks ago and Glenn Straub is out. Plans are to reopen it some time next year. Also Hardrock Casino plans to open next year in the old Taj.
https://www.njgamblingsites.com/8343...c-city-future/

Also MGM and Ceasars announce plans for a new development project (casino?) in the near future.
https://www.njgamblingsites.com/8001...asino-project/

Didn't Ceasars just shut down one of it's casinos a couple years ago to consolidate their customers into their remaining three properties?

Anyone tried Oshi Sushi @ Harrah's? What're the best items on the menu to order?

I assume I just don't know enough because significant money is going into these properties...but is there going to be any market for 2-3 new casinos in AC? It just seems so ill-conceived, and this is coming from someone who actually likes AC and sees it as a location that has unique appeal.

Hey, how come the Bally's thread is closed? Went to post an interesting night and found it closed. I know it never got a lot of posts, but is it that hard to keep it open?

Unfortunately I can't figure out how to post the screenshot, but the Bally's AC thread has a red button that says closed. Clicking on it says sorry, this thread is closed.

I did a forum search for Bally's and found the thread. Apparently, at some time they changed it to Bally's Wild Wild West from Bally's Atlantic City and I didn't see the change. The last post in the one I was following was from 2014 lol.

Don't know but I have a couple of things to say about Ballys room.
The 1/1 nl game (don't know if they still have it? ) was a great place for a new NL player to get their feet wet without feeling way intimidated.

As for the room itself it needs a major face lift. Its dark and a bit on the seedy side.
The walk down a dimly lit corridor back to the main casino is nothing short of desolate and depressing.
The rooms at BOTH Borgata and Harrahs are both more modern looking and both are better lit. They also both provide direct access to the main casino.

Anyone have advice for solid breakfast spots in AC? I’ll be staying near tropiciana and looking for a quick drive or somewhere I can walk to on the boardwalk? Thanks for any info!

Gilchrist now has another location (brand new as of last week) inside the Chelsea, next to trop. Also next to trop, across from the police station is a place called Lenox. Hole in the wall place, never knew was there. Top notch and large portions. I recommend "the gutbuster"
