Two Stud 8 Hands - 3rd Street Decisions

Playing 1/2 Stud 8, .25 cent ante.

Two hands that I wasn't sure about and I'm curious as to what you all think.

Hand One:

Hero: (6 4) 3 - brings in

Opponent actions:

4 - folds
6 - folds
10 - folds
A - complete
5 - folds
7 - raises
J - folds

back to me. is this an auto fold? should i be too afraid to call since A may 3! two of my spades are dead and the dead 5 & 7 hurts my straight draws.

Hand Two:

Hero: (J 2) 2 - brings in

Opponent actions:

3 - calls
9 - folds
2 - folds
7 - completes
9 - folds

Is this an easy call? Looking at a potential High vs. two Low Situation with all of my Jacks live for what one would hope is good two pair. At the same time, the 2 is exposed and folded, so only one 2 left. So easy call or easy fold? And if the 2 wasn't exposed how does that change things.

Hand 1 is a very clear continue. You need a REALLY good reason not to play a 3 card 6 and you don't have one here. Hand 2 is actually tougher. Your hand has more than enough hot-and-cold equity vs the opener but your visibility is really poor. Typically I would call but be prepared to fold 4 if it doesn't break well.

Hand 1 agree with RUT. Your hand is too low and too connected.

Hand 2 if it were just heads up with the completion then I think you have a marginal call fold decision. But adding in the EP limper I think raising should at least be considered. In the games I play that 3 never ever folds to a two bet. That hurts a raise. One of our deuces is dead. That hurts a call. Letting the third player in hurts our call. If the bring in were huge and we get a really good price that helps both call and raise.

On balance I think I like a fold in Hand 2.

Hand one I'll basically never fold this in a cash game. Your backdoors begin to matter if you catch good cards but for the moment you are drawing under the Seven for low with reasonably good secondary equity. With your bring-in discount you have an easy call.

Hand two is a dead wash. Very slightly +EV vs tight ranges but with poor playability. If your opponents make folding mistakes then you can call with Deuces and a big card here to play boards, but you can also fold it and save the angina.

No hand 1 is just a flat-out playable hand.

I misread the action in hand 2 and thought it was HU to 4th. I fold this every time vs a limper and completer.

calling first hand and folding second one. as mentioned, visibility sucks and having a dead 2 sucks.

1.) Where are you playing without me?

2.) Call both
