My understanding is that Seat is probably going high and his pair, if he has one, seems big than 88. Though Hero's hand gets lo potential and flush draw, but 8 is two high for a lo draw...I feel it is a weak hand to call a complete. Any thought?

Not fully understanding the table dynamics, generally speaking, I'm folding more than I'm raising but rarely calling in this spot.

I'd just fold.

Thanks!

Would you fold if Hero's hand is Ac8c8h for example in the spot?

I would call Ac8c8 with no dead Aces or 8s

Ante structure? I think it's kinda close.

Looks like 1/10th SB ante, bringin is $3 but I don't know the stakes

If the guy isn't a maniac or on tilt then he probably has like QQ, KK9, AA9 or 999. He's opening a 9 door from first position into 4 low cards and 2 overs. There's not much in the pot and you're going to have to see 5th st at least.

I don't like playing split eights (even w/ the ace) here against a big pair, and potentially better lows. You're behind for low, and you're behind for high. If your opponents play well, they can punish you by getting into a raising war on 4th (or even later). There's a decent chance that whatever equity you do have won't be realized.

add: The eight showing also hurts quite a bit, because your most likely holding is still split-eights, which doesn't threaten the big pair. You may get punished w/ raises from the big pair, and the razz hand w/ your weakness showing. MAYBE w/ the ace showing and the 88 in the hole, it's playable for someone better than I am, but I'm not playing it.
