Stud Hi: 3rd st. What pairs to raise or call a complete? Stud Hi: 3rd st. What pairs to raise or call a complete?

3 brings in, one unknown with 8 limps, Q folds, another unknown with Q limps, 7 folds, a TAG completes with 4 door. Hero has A door. What is the smallest pair for Hero to raise the complete? What is the smallest pair for calling? Of course that how coordinated is the third card to the pair is a big factor here.

Fives.

And I don't think you should call in this spot. Raise or fold.

I raise any live pair. 2 suited is nice but not a prerequisite.

The idea here is to play the hand heads up for the dead money, and unless the raiser is rolled up or has pocket aces, you are in decent shape to compete. You should never be calling raises to try and hit your pocket pair. (22)8 is just a junk hand against a raise.

So to limp (22)A makes no sense. You let everyone come in and devalue your hand. If you reraise you can win by going (22)A595, but that same hand is going to have a problem multi way.

I would be very cautious if the raiser hit a K early, and would also be concerned about a J.

I'll raise any pair or 3-flush. I don't think it's right to split your range by calling any hands with an ace and all of that potential dead money.

If you flat an Ace door you lose a lot of fold equity later, and it looks so weird it makes villains pay attention, ie play better. Raising an Ace looks normal so it can't be a mistake to raise any hand you want to play. That should include 3-flushes, pairs and a few Broadway combinations including a Queen like AKQ. I probably only play AKJ or AJT with another . The Broadway combinations don't quite break even 3-handed on pure equity so the FE becomes important.

22+, *4, *c*c : 4c38.16% 228,93189

I mean you could flat AAA but if that's the only hand you flat it's dumb so I'd raise that too.

Here's what our range should look like:

tight player raises there i fold almost all hands except the top couple.

he has control, a good hand, and you are first to lead the whole way.
