Saw this hand at 6-handed 20/40 live table. Ante is 3 and BI is 5.

3 brings in. 7 limps, T folds, and 9 folds. Hero is at CO with (44) J. BU is 9.

1st question: what range would you give to 7 for his limping range here, assuming she is a solid player on tight side?

2nd question: is this a clear complete for Hero? How about (22) J?

This is a really clear complete with the highest card showing and a live pair+live overcard to possible 77. I would complete 22 as well. He should usually have pairy hands since there are so many of his draw cards out.

I would expect the Seven to have a pair, not necessarily Sevens but that's a good guess and likely nothing as big as Tens. Read matters some. With duplicated cards I was once able to put a player precisely on (Nines) here because of how he had played dead pairs previously, but without that info Sevens is obviously more likely.

I would also open any hand I planned to play here, if only to make the Bring-in less likely to find some equity with a free card.

Agree with RolldUp, would open any live pair with a live overcard door. If a Four is out you can fold, if a Jack is out it's close and if you have a decent image playing is probably worth something.

Ask yourself: how does my hand look if i limp, or if i raise from his perspective? What do i want to accomplish? J22 is weak enough to wish for some fold equity along the way. Raise to build fold equity/increase share of dead money. Limp can benefit your fold equity as well since the pot is smaller and he isnt tied to the pot AS much? Is he aware of the potsize? Or does he just see his hand and not the situation? How do you play 3 flushes W/ Jack door? Split Jacks? 3-straights? Dont limp and be easy to play against- RAISE

auto raise here. your hand will play well if you do. you do wish to win the pot right there and will sometimes even with him having a seven.
