I would have raised 3rd. Fill the table, move us a seat to the right, and stick another overcard behind and I think calling is viable.

Whatever we do with aces up, that's the first action we should take on 4th.

Fifth is close but I think having caught the club we should continue as we have better visibility (?) of how to play sixth.

I really dislike choosing bet-fold on sixth. Or if bet-fold is close to best choosing to post this hand. bet-call decide and check-call are both better options. I probably default to check-call but am open to discussing bet-call.

You want to raise your pair of 6s after a Q just completed?

I would be likely to fold here, and honestly I don't really like how any street was played, except I guess the peel on 4th is ok since you caught an ace.

He completed but it don't mean he has a pair! Besides, I got a 2 flush and 2 straight with my pair. And it's live!

I like a reraise on 3rd because with cards behind you he should be opening somewhat wide and with live hand you aren’t that far behind QQ anyway.

Plus you should have position on the hand rest of the way and if you don’t you either pulled ahead or picked up overcard outs

Here's an old article I wrote detailing these types of situations:

The reason I went with bet-fold was that he can't really ever be bluffing if he raises but I don't want to give him a free card if he caught a draw he wants to check back. Besides that, I thought I was ahead with my 2 pair and he will call a high frequency with a pair of aces, kings or the other two queens to try to hit a bigger 2 pair.

I dunno what it's like above $2/$4 but down here you don't see guys bluff raising this spot, and whatever he raises me with I have 3 outs max to beat him, and even if I hit one of them I still may not be good! He can have three aces or three kings.

if I had to change only one street I'd lead fourth, but seems close. I think you generally did it right! I think the bet fold is definitely fine the first time but you have to be careful about it as it is certainly exploitable.

Thanks, did you look around more on the site?

There’s a similar one on small pairs with big kickers.

I may have raised 4th, but I think your play is fine. Re: 6th
