I saw the Ray Zee book suggested on here and I bought a copy. I have been reading through it but it seems to be missing a little something that I would expect out of a poker book: math. Here is a specific example, "Specifically, it is OK to call in those spots where you have a good low draw, ... and you are getting the proper odds." But it ends there. What are the proper odds for drawing to the straight? The flush? Etc.

If I am on fourth street with four to a flush, what are the odds of me hitting my flush given all of my cards are live?

I understand the book was written maybe before this sort of math was a thing.

So, my question is, what are some good resources to use along with this book to help with the math aspect?

I can't help with the resources thing but

With regards to the 4 flush thing, you can expect to hit it just over half the time, iirc ~52%. Add that to the possibility of making running two pair or trips or better and you've got yourself a good hand, but in Stud 8 it quickly becomes a bad hand if someone makes a low!

Right, that was just an example. Hold 'em books are full of math. I just expected this to have more solid numbers in it.

You should use propokertools and give him a range and work from there . The book mathematics of poker should make you solid and you will be able to answer these questions for your self instead of reading it.
