Stud 8 - 3rd, 4th & 5th Street Decisions Stud 8 - 3rd, 4th & 5th Street Decisions

Fairly early in a Stud 8 Tournament. Working on opening up my game a little on 3rd street to win more pots with high hands. Checking to make sure of the following:

3rd street is a standard raise, correct?

4th street is an easy call because we now have two dead jacks and all of my Aces are live, so shall we assume he's drawing to diamonds?

5th only question is if a check raise is worth a thought? Or is it just better to start pounding away.

I’d probably fold 3rd with 15bb but the rest looks fine

Against that board you figure to have the best hand way too often to fold Third. I would c/r Sixth vs the shorty and a low draw to make the low draw pay the maximum. Shorty capped Fifth, he will bet Six. Once in a while the low draw bets so shorty can raise and make your hand more expensive, then you get to raise it again going around, but either way that's your shot to check and get more bets in when you're scooping.

pair of 8s is a decent favorite over a low draw.
you block an ace too.

i would auto complete...

I don't think I toss 4th just yet until a 3rd diamond appears on villain's board. If there weren't so many jacks on the board, I think I might give up though.

i think on 5th, villain is either trying to go all in or something with his flush draw or he has the 1 combo of AA or 3 combos of QQ

use ur judgement on villain on 5th imo after he decides to re-raise ur lead with open 8s. that is either saying a lot right there or it means nothing.

I can't think of a time I'd fold third in a cash game or a tourny, especially in a tourny.

Smashing on 5th is debatable, player dependent imo.

Yeah but the pots big, and we have 5-6 outs to improve, and a whole lot more to backdoor.

The only time we’re really screwed is if villain has qq, which is 3 worlds out of at least 70

if anything, i would say it may be crummy because of the lack of diamonds, sevens or kings out.

i think the pot size made me peel.
