The game has no bring in, no ante. Regular 5/5 blinds with a straddle or mississipi sometimes. It's a very loose game.

We choose our doorcard on 3rd and discard 2.

Max bet/raise on 3rd is 30 or pot (if pot is less than 30)
60 on 4th
90 on 5th
120 on 6th
150 on 7th

We are 7handed,
I raise utg with AsAh6d5d3d
We can't see any doorcard yet.

1) choose to keep 6d5d3d over AA3, is it the right play?
2) what about a hand like AA45X?

in your specific game with those limit mechanics, i'm going with 356ddd. i wanna be able to get in lots of bets on 4th/5th with monster draws in a loose game, as you described it.

Thank you for answering.

If we are 5 handed, I think we keep the aces
6 handed, it's close
7 handed or more 6d5d3d over AAx

That would be my guess

Do you have to expose your upcard first? If so hard to keep aces. What if someone turns over a high card behind you?

based on my understanding of this game's mechanics (from prior posts) i think yes he does because he's UTG. but i'm not sure

Given no other information, I keep the 6d5d3d. Tossing the aces is interesting if you are in such a loose game that you might run out of cards. If you deal a spit card, it won't matter, but if you go into the muck you know those aces are in there. Somebody might be in for a surprise.

This, the playability of the hand, is the principal consideration imo. Normally two aces with a little card is a huge hand in either E or SS8, but if somebody flips an Eight and two-bets you will be at sea on a lot of future streets. With the 653ddd all your decisions will be clear.

This is why we read all the replies folks.

6d5d3d is a monster Stud 8 hand, probably better than AA3 anyway. So I the play the diamonds, particularly with that structure. Also, when you muck the aces, you have information that aces are dead. If I was going to play AA3, I would make the 3 the up card, so my hand would be disguised if I hit another ace.
