razz HUHU when to give up? razz HUHU when to give up?

3rd: xx7 bi, I complete (94)A, villain 2bets, I 3bet, he calls (I figured better to put extra pressure here because the 9 is good enough that I can make hands but bad enough that I want extra fold equity later on)

4th: I bet (94)A6, he calls xx7Q

5th: I bet (94)A69, he calls xx7Q2 (is this where I switch to check/call mode? I am credibly repping a made 9 here but I'm only 63% with a made 9 vs. a 7 draw and I'm 35% with my exact hand vs a 7 draw)

6th: I check (94)A69J, he checks xx7Q2J (I'm regretting not betting here, because if I have what I'm supposed to then I'm 72% and can continue non-improving rivers to get him to fold T's and J's and my exact hand is still 33% equity vs his likely made J7)

7th: I check (94)A69J(9) -- I think once I check 6th I've capped myself at a J9 and so he'll call me with his J7 even if he hasn't improved

Thoughts on any and all streets welcome!

Result:
Spoiler:
he checked back and won with (A6)7Q2J(J), which I'm surprised didn't bet 6th because he's 67% if I'm paired and am I ever checking here unpaired? given that he apparently thinks I might've checked 6th with a 9, maybe he would've folded 7th?

Bet 6th if you're taking this line on 3rd.

I don't think making a bigger pot will get you additional fold equity, like ever. There's a common axiom among people who play razz casually that you are priced in to peel an extra street if the hand is three-bet out of the gate. This is not entirely wrong, but it's a dummy's way of thinking about it. Nevertheless, you are better off three-betting a stronger range than weaker for this reason. Most players will fold less in a bigger pot, not more.

You can cover your strong three-bets with some strong flats and some 3B with worse ranks that have extra playability due to dead cards. Any old Nine is probably not one of those hands.

6th you can have bets and c/r here with your range. I wouldnt be c/c, but nothing wrong with checking this as its a great free card spot if you have a cr range.

played all streets well, but the logic and plan might not be 100% on point

Give up 7th is good just because you get called like always and not because youre capped. You have a cr range so youre not capped.

Don't go overboard; you can wind up missing too much value. Just good to have a range
