does anyone know what the average winning hand is in Razz?

Also, how is that known (software or author)?

I am not sure this question has much sense as it depends on the board, practically also on number of players on the 4th street and so on. And are you interesting only on showdown wins.

If you ask about say 8 players with random any three cards to start go to showdown, there will be many r-r (runner-runner) and even r-r-r wins that will never be in the real game.

But at least to have some answer I would say 8 and post this result

Al, while this question can have value in some forms of poker, in razz it really doesn't. You'll be able to tell what sorts of hands you could be up against by the cards on their board.
