I've been a pro grinder for several years (mostly NL and PLO). I've always really enjoyed stud games and have been playing them for years...well before I ever got into NL or PLO. Lately, I've been playing more and more stud 8 online...mostly short handed (3-5 players).

I would so love to take a break from NL/PLO and do this "for a living", but I just have no idea what type of winrate one could expect. Is it parallel (more or less) to a FLH game with the same amount of participants???

I realize stud games offer some serious setbacks when it comes to making a living in online poker---very hard to multi table, low volume, relatively low stakes offered, etc. But time is money and money is time, so for theoretical purposes I'm interested in knowing what approximate winrates a "good" player can expect to make at this game.

This is from memory but I was averaging
.8 / 100 in 5/T
.6 / 100 in 10/20
1.3 / 100 in 30/60
1.2 / 100 in 3/6 & 2/4

My largest samples are in 5/T and 10/20 they both had about 60k hands each. This includes Shorthanded and full ring. Also 30/60 I was more selective in the games I played. I also think the game is a lot softer now then it was in 2010. Realistically if you don't game select you can make 1bb/100 but if some if the best players make more than 1.5 I wouldn't be surprised.

10-20 had the best players imo

rake was huge in < 5-10, although SN status makes up for it.
1.2 BB/100 is running like moses @ 2-4
