good nuggets, sucks this thread didnt take off.

as a new stud/8 I am glad you guys said you have to be patient. when I play i feel i was too nitty, like I was trying to find the hands we shoudl play. but **** DAMN i felt I wasnt playing right with how much folding I had to do.

the problem with stud8 is that the gap from an good to great player is larger than in any other poker form that I know of IMO. there are so many little tricks/edges/ things you pick up that can be a major difference

my question si this

how often are we playing hands with a 7?

I won task about catching bad on 4th becuase there seems no real good tl;dr for it but I will ask, in smaller loose games, is is it correct calling with strong hands in these type of games, even if I have 245 no suits? I sstill feel i want more people in the pot, even if it was suited? when should we raise hands like these

30 years ago, stud 8/b was the major game in casinos - be more cautious of old guys because they have years of practice

start with low draw, get low and freeroll for scoop with flush/straight draws...

The first comprehensive book was Ray's, and I still think it is the best for Stud 8, although Brunson's section is good as well.
