Need help with a pot odds situation I had Need help with a pot odds situation I had

So I'm playing £2/£2 super stud pot limit and the following situation arises:

had just over 300 quid to start the hand and the villain covers.

3rd street: 6 people put £10 in.
4th street: checked to me last to act with A2|34 i bet full pot £60 (a mistake, in hindsight). i get checkminraised to £120 from someone showing 97. i call. one person was showing a five.
5th street: we both brick and he goes all in for about 200. i call for about 175 all in. i am aware at this point a reshuffle will have to take place to deal out the rest of the hand.

Prior to my call, in my mind two things are clear:
based on the type of player he is, his behaviour, how he's played his hand, everything about him says to me he has trips
and
i'm about 2 to 1 underdog if so.

HOWEVER... and this is where for me I am struggling and it's complicated due to the high low aspect.

So in terms of pot odds i am getting slightly better than 3 to 1.
my 175+his 175+240 pot=£590 total pot

After putting it into ProPokerTools i came up with equity of ~34%.

So pot odds would dictate this is a clear slamdunk money call if it was a straight high game.

But it's high low.

I make the low 52% of the time (if it's the same as omaha high low), reduced somewhat because he may have 777. So let's say 46% I make a low in the next two cards.

PPT says I scoop about 23% of the time.

I hope it's clear I'm tremendously confused at this point.

Should I have called?

How do I factor in the high low aspect with equity and pot odds? Even though I have 34% equity I don't receive the whole pot 34% of the time...

Your "equity" in the pot includes the fact that much of the time you are getting 1/2. For example, suppose on the river we were chopping your equity in the pot would be exactly 50%. Suppose a situation where you chop 50 scoop 50 and never get scooped, your equity would be 75%, etc.

My equity is my equity no matter what, and if I'm getting favourable pot odds to call I should call (cash games specifically) irrespective of whether or not it's for a scoop.

Gotcha.

If it's for a scoop your equity will be higher and reflect that. For example, if you are getting freerolled but can escape 1/2 of the time, your equity will show up as .25 and you will need 3:1 to call.
