Hi all,

Assuming that Stud High, Stud8 and Razz are the most commonly played 7 card stud games then what would be the fourth? Mississippi Stud? Baseball?

Thanks in advance.

Are you counting 2-7 razz as different? If not, maybe High/low Regular?

I was thinking of a stud only rotation of games and I am very excited by 2-7 Razz but would either include and exclude standard Razz or vice versa. I got stud 8 in so I am not sure what you mean by High/Low Regular (I would also not include high low with a declare).

I am thinking perhaps the fourth game should be low hole card wild.

Many thanks for replying.

i'd count 2-7 razz as a variant since it's its own game, so yeah prob that? even though i detest it. somehow i see it a lot more than super stud 8, which is a game i think is super fun.

still have yet to play games like razzdugi and their offshoots, which makes me sad

Thank you. Good to know. Have you ever played Superstud? Maybe that could be the fourth game in the rotatiion. I have never played it. I know it is played for high and hilo but I have no idea which is more popular.

Whammy stud 8 is great. You put a joker in the deck, and you cannot win the hand at showdown if you have the Joker in your hand. If it's dealt as an upcard, it instantly kills that hand. If it's dealt as a down card, that hand cannot win at showdown.

The Whammy is a home-game innovation courtesy 2+2er Oscillator, and can be used in any game, but it works great in stud 8.

What happens to the money in the pot when the hand is killed? Part of the pot in the next hand?

If the hand goes to showdown, the best hand not containing the whammy gets the pot. If there are two players in the pot and one of them gets the whammy as an upcard, that hand is dead and the pot is awarded to the player with a live hand.

In flop games, if the whammy comes on the board, the whole board is scrubbed and re-dealt to that point and the hand continues.

I really like how it crafts a finely-tuned balance between skill and luck.

Chicago!

Highest spade in the hole wins half the pot. You can also play lowest spade in the hole as well.

Have fun!
