7-5-2
or
6-4-2

both unsuited and only 2 cards that we need for straight potential are out

How would you play both of these with a raise in front? and how would you play with 2 raises in front?

im assuming if we see 3 of our out cards out on the board its an automatic fold. I assume both are playable for a raise with each but once we see 2 raises in front both hands are folds no matter what the board looks like?

I’m pretty new to this game, but this is how I think about it.

752r is pretty situational. I’d often fold it for one raise depending on the opener and what’s behind be. For example I’d probably almost always fold to an A raising even if it’s very live, unless the A is in steal position. Even if you catch good on fourth your just drawing to a mediocre low and can get jammed by better draws.

642r is much better as it can straights and better lows, and may be able to continue if it bricks 4th and doesn’t look like you’ll get jammed. If you fill in one of your gaps you can do the jamming. I’d rarely be folding it unless it’s pretty dead.

You left out some key info of what up card are the raiser and reraiser? Ace makes it easier to fold 7 5 2 especially if other lo cards are gone besides the ones to fill in like 3,4 & 6. I am calling a raise and probably reraise with 2 4 6 depending on what I specified above. All aces, dueces, fives and sevens can bet out, call or raise depending on what happens with other hands. A brick by the other opponent and you pair or hit an 8, you have options too where you are possibly in the drivers seat or get free cards in upcoming streets. What makes stud8 so great for lo is you don't need to necessarily actually hit a Stud hi hand to win. Anything ugly might not only do it for half but you can scoop when freerolling and betting out like your hand is big. What great feeling to win 50% when your hand is 87542 and your opponent shows at least a set for the face cards and does hit a boat...it is only worth half to your ****ty lo!

I understand.

I tried to make it easier saying only 2 wheel cards or 2 cards we need for straight where out. i understand it factors highly still.

I vew been watching a lot of mid stake stud8 games and i am super surprised how often those games have raises and re pops with 7 low hands, startign at 3r street. some players like a certain regular on WPN network who seems to be a legit regular who for the past few weeks keeps winning. are super aggro with 7 low hands on 3rd street. i ve heard zee constantly say 7 low hands are mediocre but im amazed how often people, like I said above, re pop with like 763r, it something I want to learn how agressive I can play some 3rd stret hands.

642 with most wheel cards out with 6 players left behind,to me, seems like a hand I might wan tto dump since i have a low chance of ever scooping with so many dead cards. but if there is only 2-3 cards that I need out, I feel I can play.

I'm not sure zee says all 7-low hands are bad, but in many situations a 7 without an ace, a straight or a flush draw isn't that good. If your opponents are all playing for high, a ragged 7 goes up in value.
