What is a British-style band? Does it have anything to do with warm beer?

The real key to knowing when to float here and when not to is all in the order of your opponents board. If he has xxAK2, this is considerably stronger than xxA2K vs our xx838 board. Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating floating in either spot, but I am saying that one of the two scenarios I posted should almost never be floated, while the other can show a profit if certain requirements are met.

Sorry guys, but 2p2 has rules where we cannot allow such stakes to take place without going through proper channels. Next time take your business to the staking forum. Once you are through the staking forum process, feel free to link your staking post back here.

Thanks for understanding,
Joe

Re: Can we start March Low Content yet?

British-style brass band:

1 E-flat cornet
9 B-flat cornets
1 Flugel horn
3 E-flat alto horns
2 Baritone horns
2 Euphonium horns
2 Tenor trombones
1 Bass trombone
2 E-flat tubas
2 B-flat tubas
3 percussion

So more of the mellower, conical instruments and less of the strident, cylindrical instruments than you might find in other ensembles.

And I do enjoy a cask ale once in a while myself.

Re: Can we start March Low Content yet?

so as long as we're talking about brass instruments, how do you make more than 8 notes on the trumpet w/ 3 keys?

Re: Can we start March Low Content yet?

You can buzz a lot of different frequencies with the same valve combination. You've heard bugle calls, right? Those are played on an open horn, and they have several different notes. The different valves add some tubing to lower the pitch as follows:

2 half-step
1 whole-step
12 minor third
23 major third
13 perfect fourth
123 tritone

And the most commonly used open notes are a fifth or less apart, so that covers the chromatic scale. Some instruments have four, five, or even six valves to help with intonation. Most trumpets only have three valves, however, because most intonation problems can be fixed by moving a slide a fraction of an inch using one finger on the left hand.
