down 70$ to razitup after playing 10 husngs where i should have won 3 that i lost
03-16-2010 , 01:38 AM
This has been on my mind all night.

I'm playing a short session of about an hour of some Stud8. A table each of 1/2 and .5/1. I did well, made great decisions, and happened to rewarded with $11 for the hour.

I look up only one level higher, at 2/4, and see a FT pro, Artie Cobb. Now, I have all these weirds thoughts going through my head:

- I assume his BR is probably 2000-3000
- I have never seen or heard of him until a month or so ago [sitting at 2/4 on FT]
- He might make maybe average of $16 [which I would love FTR]
- Most FT Professionals have more prestige and name recognition.
- Is he really getting paid [considerably?] to sit and play at 2/4 Stud8?

My point to all of this, is how is he a FT pro? Is it because he almost exclusively plays/wins Stud8, which isn't a popular online game, and needs a specific "Pro"? Is there some info I am completely missing? Can I be the next FT pro who makes $16-$18 an hour playing Stud8? I'm being sarcastic here, but am intrigued at how this guy could be making a living.

This may all seem petty. Quite frankly, I'm just baffled?!

Yeah, I posted a Razz hand recently where I won with three pair -- which played as a pair of Aces -- where my opponent and I just checked it down...

Villain is a 2+2 Stud reg, don't want to name them in case they want to remain anonymous. The call on 5th really suprised me, seems like a pretty big leak especially considering no bets went in on 4th.
