I think it would be really neat if one of the poker rooms in vegas spread 1-2 PLO WITHOUT a $5 bring-in. The 1-2 PLO at wynn, aria, venetian, all play like a 2-5 or even a 5-10 at times because of the bring-in and straddlers. If you had a 1-2 PLO with a normal $2 bring-in and no straddle, I think that would really help to grow the game and allow PLO beginners to step into a game that isn't gigantic. Just my two cents.

Wyynn dealers are usually "on top of things" but this time I went I felt like there was a tradeoff for having such an exquisite looking room in exchange for bad service. I saw so many dealer errors, much of it was for very minor things, but I never said anything because I wasn't involved in any of those hands.

I was there for a few days playing and I didn't feel like they were as competent as in the past. A few dealers I have played with were just losing their touch on things and many of others I have seen but not played with seemd so pissy and moody. It was very uncharacteristic of the wynn.

The $100 5k chip add on for the Sunday $200 10k guarantee is horribad, right?

Well, I see where you coming from

I suggest go to linq for 1-1 plo. (White play)
The game has some regulars but it will help you get going.
Just my two cents

Hi SteveO, thanks for the post. We've tossed around the idea of a 1-1 game. The challenge is that the 1-2 (with $5 bring in) is running nearly every day, and the player pool isn't big enough yet to run multiple games. It is something I will keep in mind when we come out of the low season. I would like to have multiple tiers of PLO, and a 1-1 game with a $200 cap would accomplish that.

We did eliminate the button straddle from the 1-2 PLO game a few weeks ago.

I'm thinking about moving out to vegas and looking for a room to post up in perma, does wynn offer poker room rates to pros? Can I get a comped room if I play like 8-12 hours everyday?

I doubt it; you don't bring in enough business to warrant a room comp. You can probably get the reduced room rates though.

Venetian vs. Encore?

I do not get out to Vegas often, but when I do I stay at the Palazzo, play at the Venetian, and take advantage of their suite rates for poker players. Now that the Venetian has scaled down its poker room and Wynn expanded and moved its poker room to Encore, I am thinking of staying and playing there. Does anyone have thoughts to share?

Thank you in advance.

Does the Wynn have a poker room rate for their guests. Going to be staying from March 22nd through March 28th?

Yes we do! To receive the poker rate, you must average 6 hours of play per day over the course of your stay.

Please email your questions to poker.reservations@wynnlasvegas.com and we will be happy to assist you.

Is Encore going to start charging for self-parking.?

Construction at the entrance/exit to the self-park Encore garage sure looks like they are going in that direction.

Will there be any relief (validation) for poker players if this is the case?

Hi Zen. I'm not aware of the construction at the Encore garage but will have a look. Nor has there been any announcements regarding parking, so I'm afraid I don't have info for you.

Is the 5/10 game still uncapped during the WSOP?

Hello Senator (funny, never said that before). The 5/10 is always uncapped, 365 days/yr.

Hope you can join us, we're averaging 4-5 games a night right now.

AALegend suggested this idea in the MHFR subforum:

"Here's an idea that maybe DGAF or one of you can successfully pull off: How about convincing a floor at one of the high volume Vegas or LA casinos to start a single 5 10 no headphone, no sunglasses, no smartphones, no tablets table? Those who want to use either of the above can feel free to play at other tables."

If you are getting 4-5 tables of 5-10 off is there any chance we could try this at one of them? I'll be there next week and would love to see you give it a chance.

Hi Jrr. I'm certainly not opposed to the idea and really liked that Savage tried it in CA. But in all honesty, it's incredibly difficult logistically to manage two games of the same limit with a differentiator like that. Think of two separate lists, table changes, explaining to players who attempt to list, etc.

It would take some time to figure out how to make it work properly and, to be 100% truthful, we just don't have the time or staff during WSOP. We've added 25 tables and are running 32-35 cash games a night, so we're stretched a little thin.

Also, I really don't know how you would enforce such a thing in a cash game?!

You couldn't enforce it by killing a hand, but if a player did the prohibited things, you could remove them from the table; that doesn't seem difficult.

If we got a table started like that it would just list separately as a "no tech" table, not a must move from one of the other games. It might attract some players from other places who prefer "old school" environment.

I know a few guys who reg the room there - when I get up there I'll see if any of them like the idea, and if so maybe you could consider it.

FWIW I would play at that table if I played those limits. The game would certainly move faster. Since it would not be part of the must move, I bet Sunglasses Boy, etc would probably put away their foolishness in order to play there and not get moved.

I got no problem with cell phones at the table, but I do have problems with people who bring laptops and tablets and start streaming whatever show and zone out.

Yes I realize you can do this with a cell phone as well... but I've seen the worst offenders using the bigger screens in the past.

Just do it like Wynn Macau where everyone has to stand up and move at least a little bit away from the table if they want to use a cell or other electronic device. The floor can enforce it there

I'm sure you know this, but I'll clarify for everyone else. The "no electronics at the table" rule in Macau is a gaming law, which makes it somewhat easier to enforce. It was put in place by the DICJ just over a year ago.

Also, the Macau poker culture tends to follow and respect rules much easier than the Las Vegas poker culture.

I'm certainly not saying it couldn't be done in LV, but attempting such a thing in the middle of the WSOP wouldn't be setting the trial up for success.
