Seneca has a bad rake of $3 on the flop no matter how small the pot, plus $1 for the terrible BBJ rake, then another $1 when the pot is >= $40. Its 50 BB 1/2 is terrible, full of shortstackers blinding themselves to death, wasting their life away hoping for the BBJ. Its single 2/5 table is not worth playing compared to 10-15 2/5 tables at Fallsview.

Regulators probe executive pay at Woodbine
Quote:
Woodbine Entertainment paid $51-million in bonuses to employees over a 12-year period, The Globe has found through interviews and documents. In 2009, 79 management employees collected bonuses averaging $28,000. And the CEO is believed to have earned just over $1-million before his pay was rolled back this year.
Has anybody filled out the green feedback form at Woodbine recently (e.g., to give suggestions about the silly SNG hours, improve to 50/30/20 payout structure or add MTTs) and gotten a reply yet from Woodbine management?

I gotta get one of those forms next time I'm there. For anyone that thought Fallsview had the worst customer service, you're in for a rude awakening at Woodbine.

The security people are major dicks, and you can't even bring in an unopened bottle of water or protein bar. You can't get a decent cup of coffee there. A glass of milk or bottle of water costs $3.50. The only decent place to eat (noodle bar) closes at night. The cashiers ask you all kinds of questions when depositing and cashing out. The list goes on.....

How many Woodbine players knew that last Friday was the one-year anniversary celebration of its poker room with $10,000 draws?

They had a few signs in the room..

I dropped by for a few hours tonight. Wednesday Dec. 18th. Almost no waiting list for 1/2 NL. Lots of draw tickets in the drum for the freeroll to the Bangkok or Macau poker tour thing.

At what limits do they run omaha here?
12-23-2013 , 11:00 PM
I have only seen 1/2 Omaha ran.
I was there last Friday evening, Dec. 20th. I played 1/2 and saw winnie was on my table. Last time I saw him was at Brantford years ago. He was a 10/20 limit game pro. Interesting to see him at a 1/2 NL game. He ran a $300 buy in to over $1000 and left.

After playing at Casino Rama on Monday where all 12 tables were running as of 1 PM, I tried to stop by Woodbine at night to see how many tables were running, but the entire perimeter was blocked off the police. There was no way I could drive into Woodbine and there was a lot of emergency vehicles.

Anybody know what happened? Did a losing poker player go postal and held the Pokertek machines hostage?

I went to the casino at 10pm on Monday, police were still hanging around the Islington exit, there ended up being a massive car accident but nothing that affected the casino, nor even that close to it. Six 1/NL, Three 2/5NL games and one 5/5NL were running Monday night with pretty decent lists most of the night.

Any BJ players on here I saw Woodbine has electronic tables in the poker room and claim it's 6 deck game then ends after three decks. BJ plays 3/2 is this beatable with a spread from 5 to 500, if you card count?

Woodbine is slowly learning that it should run more tournaments to generate more revenue and cash game action. It has improved from a four-hour SNG window to up to 14 hours/weekday. Here are the new hours instead of just 8 a.m. - noon:

Monday - Thursday: 12:01 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Friday - Sunday: 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Anybody interested in trying to play a SNG after midnight, e.g., April 14, Easter Monday or Victoria Day, May 19 >= 12:01 AM?

FWIW, I'm guessing that 3 deck penetration isn't enough. Probably need ~2 decks remaining to have a shot at beating it. I haven't counted cards in a long time. Only counted when I played the single deck games in Reno and LV.

Someone may need to correct me on this but I believe SnGs range from $80-$500 with the $80 and $220 ones being the most popular. As far as an hourly at the $1/$2nl game, it is really player dependent. Just remember that there is no tipping, cheaper rake, and more hands per hour, so you should see an increase if you are a winning player

Have a Plan B. Woodbine's 2 p.m. deadline makes it like Fallsview's WPT SNGs in that you can phone ahead to confirm there are enough players on the official list so you drive all the way out there only to waste your time because no SNG ever ran before the deadline.

Even if it doesn't run I'd be quite happy playing cash, which i think always runs.
04-10-2014 , 04:42 PM
Fallsview with 10-17 tables of 2/5+ and tourists is better for cash games. Even Casino Rama's 12 tables are full on tournament Mondays (sold out), along with Great Blue Heron's 10 tables on tournament Wednesdays (also sold out). Woodbine is missing out on filling up its 11 tables during weekdays with its stupid SNG deadline and not running MTTs that would feed the cash game tables for the rest of the day. Next time I go to Woodbine and the SNG list does not run yet again, I will withdraw my entire balance and stick to playing with its competition above.

With Easter Monday an off day for a lot of people, how many tables are running at Woodbine tonight? Have people signed up for the SNGs yet that can run after midnight Monday - Thursday?

Cell rules are pretty lax there. At least I never had a problem moving my chair back about 1 foot and using my phone.
