And only 6 at Choctaw. We will see if Saturday has the same results.

Winstar is pretty much good volume always, only exception being weekdays. I know they (Choctaw) don't accurately update Bravo when the series is going on as they are having the cash games in that back conference room area. They wait list with a marker board and it seems they kind of update Bravo "every so often." Saturday prob picking up around early afternoon there will be an absurd amount of great cash games at Choctaw.

I have never even seen a structure sheet for the Saturday Deep stack, I doubt they have them available. I heard that they removed a few levels, so the tournament begins at 11 am and ends closer to 9 pm than 12 pm

Does anyone know how the Winstar $175 Saturday Deep Stack compares to the Choctaw $180 Saturday tournament in terms of softness, field size, expected prize pool, etc... I've only ever played tournies at Choctaw, so just trying to get an idea of which one to go with when Choctaw isn't hosting a bigger event.

Winstar usually gets 100-200 entrants, vs. Choctaw's 70-80.

Both fields are incredibly weak with mostly recreational players that have no idea about sizing, ranges, & value betting. These structures are incredibly fast also, so if your short stack push/fold game is strong....you'll have a large edge against most of the field.

The Choctaw tourney has a few extra levels and amazingly can run until 8 or 9 pm.

How are the PLO games at Winstar?

I will be moving to Dallas in a few months and that is my preferred live game.

They have a 2/5 PLO game that runs on Fri & Sat that is pretty big (average stack is 2K).

They also run between 1 and 3 tables of 1/2/5 mix (round of hi & hi/lo), that are fun & soft when they aren't filled with geriatrics.

while i am sure the newly remodeled room is a considerable upgrade from the old one, i will miss the grit and grim of the no frills sparsely appointed former home. While not my regular casino I have played many a session at this venue and felt the overall feel of the room was perfectly suited for where is was at in the country perhaps its just a sense of nostalgia but speaking as a person who has seen all the remodeling and new vessels that have replaced old ones along the ohio river I long for the days when the rooms look matched the general tone of the indigenious gamblers. Then again I prefer the sawdust joints of my youth to the these modern parlors but what counts is making people feel comfortable to come in and mix it up.

Moving the room even further away from the gaming floor has its pros and cons. I do like the addition of bigger TV’s on the walls and TV’s on the columns in the inner part of the room. I do hope in the future they consider consolidating the 1/2 and 1/3 as I see no reason to segregate the player pool at those stakes.

No way, 1/3 is soooooo much better than 1/2. 1/2 keeps all the nits that buy in for $100 and piss it away $10 at a time there and makes 1/3 so much better. Almost everyone at 1/3 buys in for 200-300 and makes the action a lot better.

^ There's still nits and short stackers that play 1-3

But yeah I don't think they should consolidate 1/2 and 1/3. I think 1/3 is a good intermediate between 1/2 and 2/5.

They should raise the minimum to $200 on the 1-3 and the max on the 2-5 to a $1k.
