Tournament last night had 64 entrants w. 7 ppl getting paid. Final table hit around 10:30 and final 5 around 11. Little over 1K up top.

I've been going to Winstar since it opened and have been receiving offers for free rooms for years (only Sun-Thurs). This does me no good because I go up on Saturdays. I save vacation time for Vegas trips.

Anyway, I just called them for the first time to book a free room tomorrow (Thurs) night. They told me they are out of free rooms but I can book a room for $109/night. It's so disgusting to me how greedy they are and can literally get away with treating customers like **** because of lack of competition.

Other than poker rake, this sorry place will never get another penny from me.

Yep, they sent me another one of these "free room" cards for only Sun-Thurs but this time it says that I need to use it by the end of August or they'll stop sending them

Once I got a mailer that included one or two Fridays and I called them the day I got the mailer and they were "out of rooms" for those days.

There is not a big difference between 1-2 and 2-5 although there will be 1 or 2 solid players at 2-5 while at times there ae nothing but rec players at 1-2. Other than talking on the phone everything appears cool

Same type of deal with the comped rooms, there are only so many available each night. Once they are full up you're not getting one for free.

I would assume if you were planning a vacation you would not wait until the night before to book reservations. The same applies in this case. If you plan ahead it's never a problem. If you call the night before, chances are 90%+ you'll be SOL.

They take $1 jackpot from small blind before cards are dealt. Rake is 10% up to $5

So I've read through several pages to see if I could find my answers and there seemed to be a couple discrepancies. I'll be playing here in 2 weeks, just for one day, unfortunately. This will be my first trip to this poker room. I normally grind 2/5 in upstate NY where the max buy in is $500. Is this the max here as well, as it is in most rooms? I get giddy and uber excited when a room spreads a 1k max 2/5 game, lol. Also, anyone know the specifics of the "aces cracked" promo? Neither Bravo nor the Winstar website address either of these questions. Actually the poker page of the website is in general pretty lacking, but oh well. Thanks!

It's a $500 max but the game often plays much deeper than you would expect from a $500 max game, particularly on the weekends.

Have always been curious why mix game spreads regularly at Choctaw during the different tournaments they hold there but never at Winstar...? By mix game i mean the standard mix games, (draw,stud, omaha...etc) not the round and round plo/plo8 that spreads there usually. Seems to always be a great mix game at Choctaw so why not start running it regularly at Winstar...?
