Anyone stayed @ the Hotel located on the property here?

I'm going up for my B-day in a couple weeks with the Ball&Chain and I called to get the rates. They told me it's 159 on site and 119 in the inn that's down the road. Just curious what would be the advantage to staying on site opposed to a 1/4 mile down the road for 40 bucks less?

I personally haven't stayed in the new hotel, but hear it's nice. The inn was pretty dumpy when I stayed in it about a year ago. I would definitely pay the extra $40 to stay in the new place. Especially if you're with your wife.

the rooms are nicer at the hotel. you can get room service there too, and there is a starbucks downstairs.

the inn is fine. the rooms arent as swanky, but they are perfectly good. they also have smoking rooms if that interests you, the hotel doesnt. the inn and the hotel are probably about the same distance from the poker room.

Did anyone go to Winstar this past march when Manny Pacquiao fought at Cowboys Stadium on March 13th of this year? If so, how was the action? Was there an increase from the usual weekend crowd?

I was there and the action was juicy as usual. I didn't notice it being any more/less busy. Saturday nights there are pretty good.

im not sure i moved away for about 5 months for a job that turned to **** i moved back called my buddies said lets go hit the poker room and they gave me the news. The casino said they were not making enough money altho all they spread was 1/2 NLH and the rake was 5$ a hand almost 4 to rake and 1 to BBJ so idk how they are not making enough money but they closed it sad day they had one of the nicest poker rooms around.

Well that's really going to put a damper on the WSOP circuit events that are scheduled to be held there in January.

way more people at winstar just because it's closer to most dfw'ers

on weekends it really doesn't matter where you go, there will be plenty of action/selection

during the week though, durant can be kinda slow

Quick question to regs - why can't I get good signal for my cell phone in Winstar and Choctaw?
Do they jam the signal to keep players gambling?

I think Winstar is okay (some spots are okay in poker room and at least you could step out).
Choctaw was bad - I had to walk a lot to step out of building to get good reception.

Signal sucks @ Winstar. I also had trouble using their quote un quote wifi. Had to stick to music I already had downloaded.

I can't comment on Choctaw but WinStar's poker room is a metal building and I am sure that is part of the reason.

I am able to surf the web on a laptop in the dealer's breakroom using the inhouse WiFi. I do not get a signal on my smart phone in the room but if I am in a restaurant I can get 3G and all 4 bars.

Winstar's wifi requires you to sign on - open your browser. It asks for your email address. "a@a.com" works.
