They're punks/posers that think they know what they're doing. If they did, they'd be sitting at 2/5 or 5/10. And they do berate players when they stack off, but they never show their cards.

I think it's usually a guy and his brother/friend, but it's never more than 2 of them. Right?

My experience this past Saturday was at the 2-5 table. Although some of them might very well have been at 1-2 tables also.

There seemed to be at least 5 of them that knew each other. They weren't doing anything rude on this particular day, I just found the table moving to be very odd.

Btw, the vast majority of the young regulars are quite respectful. I don't know who these guys are.

Yes. They would never stay put long enough to win anything at the tables I could see.

I agree that 90% of the people in there are friendly. Some just need to keep quiet when they get sucked out on.

A lot of the young guys you are talking about out play 40+ hrs in 2days during the weekend. I think they get up to socialize, talk hands and keep things fresh. I could see how it bothers others but there's nothing illegal with what they are doing so might as well get used to it. I know a couple of them are students.

I personally dont mind it b/c I prefer the table 7 handed or so. But, to each their own.

Lol i'm 75% sure I may be one of these people you're discussing. I usually go with my Asian friend and bring a backpack to put food, a notebook, change of clothes in (sometimes I'll split a cheap motel). After an hour I take a break and go talk to him about some hands or he comes and finds me though.

I usually try and stay at a table for a minimum of an hour before table hopping out of respect though and only switch tables if our table is already full and no one is taking a break.

This past weekend I went table hoping like mad from being card dead and sitting down at uneventful tables though.

I'm referring to two scrawny white guys that are always showing attitude, berate bad plays, and ate like they're some badass poker players.

You might be one of these folks but lots of people have backpacks. Do you wear a hoodie?

On the table changes, I can certainly understand moving if a table is full of decent players. But I think this is rare and only likely at the 5-10 game, but even that game always has at least two easy money spots (not going to mention names).

But moving due to being card dead or lack of action doesn't make sense to me. Action goes in waves. If you keep moving, you might catch the down wave on each table you move to. Maybe you have experience timing it right?

Personally, I like to develop playing relationships with the players over hours of playing. I learn their play and let them figure me out so I can do the opposite. Every once in a while I can even spot tells. I think this is the biggest strength in live poker vs. online. With people bouncing around on tables online I could never establish any type of read (I guess that's what the software was for).

I love to play with people I've had a history with. This past week I took a guy's money because I knew he was dying to get me back from the previous week. I flopped my set and let him do the betting before making a huge raise on the river because I knew he wanted to beat me.

How do you eat like a badass poker player? I may need to change my eating habits.

Does Winstar ever get any $5/10 NLHE games going during the day on Wednesdays and Thursdays? If not, are $2/$5 NLHE games pretty common during the day (again on Wednesday and Thursdays) during the week? Thanks.

Multiple 2/5 games run everyday, practically 24/7.

I play mainly at night, so I'm not sure if 5/10 is running every day, but I would expect it to run Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at a minimum. Lately they have had 1 or 2 tables of 10/25 running on Friday/Saturday (min buy-in 2k, no max)

Every Thursday around noon a 5/10NLHE game starts. Wednesday is hit or miss. Multiple 5/10s Fri-sun.

yeah 5/10 sun-wed is pretty hit or miss, i'd say lately it's been more miss, but sometimes a table will get going in the middle of the week that looks good

Re: Winstar World Casino (Thackerville, OK)

Played here after long time Friday night 3/9/2012.
Action was crazy. The casino was full by Friday afternoon.
Played on many tables.
Started at 1/2 NL then played 4/8.
High stakes action was crazy. There was 10/25 main game and must move game.
In the must move game they were doing 100 button straddle every hand making it 2 or 3 way allin every hand preflop.
On 2/5 PLO game there was an Indian guy potting repotting preflop getting the table to gamble allin 3-way or 4-way preflop. It was a crazy game!

I had a decent night. Was down to my last buyin and made comeback in the last hour and finished up 100 something. When I left at 12:30pm action was just getting started.

I was told they are doing Aces cracked promotion in omaha game now.
So many players play omaha during weekeday.
Good way to build player pool for this fun but a sick game.

Re: Winstar World Casino (Thackerville, OK)

does anyone know how the thursday tournament turnout usually is? I know its a bad structure and everything, but for a hundred bucks oh well. I only play the friday tournies and was wondering if anyone knew the regular turnouts and how much it usually is chopped for at the end. Thanks

It's not that bad, but expect a shove fest after second break. I actually won a Wednesday tournament out right a few weeks ago without a chop. Total chips in play were $500,000 and the blinds were $15k/$30k wtf lol

I actually played with this kid. Kid can be annoying sometimes but gave lots of action. I think he lost over 30k in the last two months

They are stopping this this week. A dealer told me aces were cracked 17 times in about an hour and a half in a PLO game. lol. Guess it didn't take too long to figure out this was a bad promo to run in a PLO game.

yesterday was the last time they would run the AA cracked on the LO8 game. I think they still run it on all holdem games.
